Surely we re making huge assumptions here? I could conceive of any number of potential clauses in the contract of sale and employment contract that might impact the outcome of this either way.

I suggest, none of us have a Scooby what the details of the contracts are and so none of us has a valid opinion about it? Is there any piece of factual evidence about any of this in the public domain?

On the wages thing, I have an ongoing employment contract, if I die in a plane crash does my employer pay my family for the rest of my working life? Is this some UK/EU employment law thing or are we guessing because I'll just cancel my life insurance if that's the case.

Id imagine the terms of a footballers contract will include salary payments for the duration of contract because that will be a stipulation and would also cover career ending injury, but only for the duration of the contract. Most day to day employment contracts do not stipulate an end date.

Obviously if we could all get employment contracts with similar terms to a PL footballer we would go for them. Sadly given the money involved I suspect PL player contracts will contain a few more clauses and sub clauses than the average employment contract with more variables, throw in the fact there is £multi-million asset investment then I don't see it as comparable.

So I wouldn't be cancelling your life insurance just yet.

I'd imagine the issue with Sala, is insurance and liability. Also whether cause of death is covered given it was a private charter.
