In Carragher's autobiog, he was telling the story that Benitez was disappointed that Heskey was sold just before he arrived. He would rather have played a system with Emile in 04/05 than having to deal with Cisse and Baros, who were pretty much the same striker. I like to think he would have had a bit of a resurgence under Benitez. Even if he had managed 10 goals or so, he would have brought a lot to that league season. (And won the European Cup )

Disgraceful behavior by morons, shocking that there are so many with this mindset.

I just read that Richard Dunne has scored more league goals for Liverpool, than Mario.

            Awesome.

Would like to point out that he was good when he came on, frustratingly offside but took his goal well. (Well, yeah, goal) he'll probably be "ill" until the end of the season now, but credit where it is due.

He should be starting every game since he is an actual forward. Starting without one on the pitch is bull****. The problem for Mario and our other strikers is, this team creates very little. So unless they can blast one in from outside the box then they are unlikely to get many goals.

Apart from straying offside what did he do wrong? He had no wild shots, he played it simple where he needed to and tried to force something on the outside on two occasions. He then made a great run, with a great touch and gets flagged offside. Can't remember him being wasteful or spurning chances. I think the way we play should be questioned first and foremost. We create very little for any striker. They live off scraps.

I was trying to find reasons to call him a cnut today but he gave me very little opportunity. That in itself shows progress.

He actually played alright and put some effort in which is more than can be said for some of the other players.

He wasn't offside so that was a major **** up by the linesman and he did finish it well. His movement on and off the ball was good but he's still guilty of holding it up unnecessarily at times, he also goes down too easily but he played well I thought and I can't stand Balotelli, certainly wasn't our worst player.
