All I can say is, well done Rafa, we shouldn't get into bidding wars with a team like West Ham who are fighting for survival and need to pay over the odds for players so they can stay up, people taking advantage of their desperation basically, well we aren't desperate.
Surely nobody should be expecting us to pay over £2m a year in wages for someone who will probably end up just filling the gaps in the defence and only starting half our games.
At the end of the day, you can't blame him for going where he can get more wages, we were offering market value for him, if he isn't prepared to come to Liverpool than Rafa is right, he doesn't have the desire we need which is what he's saying in a nutshell.
I think we've won on this one, I think he's overated anyway.
TalkSport, we offered 35k per week...idiot, he'll be looking for premiership football next season!
I heard a passing comment on Talksport this morning, whoever it was talking about last nights game at Newcastle then went on to speculate about Lucas Neil and West Ham, he added that Pennant turned down a move there this week...Beaky said he hadn't heard anything about that but has anyone else ?

I think I saw it on the BBC or Guardian site this morning. It wasn't clear how it came about.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
