The Times have also reported pretty much the exact same thing:

I am honestly laughing my ass off at how inane and moronic Lucas Neill is. Personal pride and loyalty are obviously priorities for him. He has gone for the fast buck, yet insisted on a clause allowing him to leave if West Ham get relegated - he potentially sees himself there for only 6 months. So he is taking more money than he would at Liverpool for only a guaranteed 6 months. :whatever:

Lucas Neill is clearly as big of a cock sucker as speedy.

If he doesn't want to play for us then **** him. It's so stupidly short-sighted of him (if The Times article is to be believed). Who would seriously prefer to play for West Ham than Liverpool?

        Ian.

He might not have played for us, most`people saw him as backup.

Silly, silly ****, oh how he'll come to regret this decision.

A move to a team in the CL and £30,000 a week or a move to team struggling for survival for £50,000 a week... No of course he hasn't gone for the money!!!

The long and the short of it is we need hungry players and not greedy ones. Lucas Neill is clearly a greedy one hence his insistance that he'll be allowed to leave should they go down. He's went for the money and I'm glad that we weren't held to ransom over his wage demands.

I wasn't that fussed about his signing anyway because lets face it he was never exactly going to be a main stay in our team was he? He'd have picked up his wages and probably got 5 bookings and 2 sendings off in the process.

We play West Ham in about 10 days time....let's hope Neill plays and we give him and his teamates a real hiding.

Be interested to hear the Aussies opinion on his decision.

wasn't one of them suggesting he was a boyhood liverpool fan the other day??

                    Seems unlikely....

The writing was on the wall as soon as that Money or Medals story appeared in the Post yesterday morning. What a prize knob! He's turned down the best chance he'll ever have of medals and Champion's League footy.

Never mind, we can do better than him anyway.

                          NEXT!!!!
No! I am NOT in denial!

Seems Neill & West Ham are both chasing the $ with the increased riches on offer next season, doing everything, and anything, possible to stay up.

Will it work is another story, only then will both parties know if they each made the right move. Expensive story if it doesn't.

If its all about money im sure Neill could stay at Blackburn with a better wage rather then go to Ice Ham with a little bit more money and a great chance to win a championship medal next year

He might be happy at Blackburn, he is the capt after all, and it's all a smoke-screen to procure a better package.
