Aldridge knocked it in at the far post.

One goal that always comes to mind is Kennedy’s goal in the 1981 European Cup Final v Real Madrid.

It’s probably not the best quality wise; it’s just the importance of it. I love the way he runs towards the crowd behind the goal after scoring.

To score the only goal and the winner in the final must have been an amazing feeling.

Good question. My criteria for favourite goal would be that it provided a moment of pure elation as it clinched some important game for us - Stevie Gerrard against West Ham just gave us the possibility of extra time, Kenny's against Chelsea was too early in the game, Terry Mc against Tottenham was the icing on a cake. So my top 3:
            3. Fairclough v St Etienne
            2. Owen 2001 Cup Final
            1. Rushy 1986 Cup Final

with an honourable mention to Mark Walters scoring the second against United in '92 to help deny them the league and Stevie G v Olympiakos.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Stevie Heighway - pass from Tommy Smith in the middle of the park over the left wing. Stevie skins Hurst and thumps the ball into the net from an impossible angle. Amazing!

Barmbys at Leeds in the FA Cup 2001, it was a ****ty rebound but it went ****ing crazy in the away end like ive never seen it before, 6000 of us, Leeds were good then and an 88th minute winner. Was quality. Heskey scored a quality goal a few minutes after that aswell.

I loved that goal. It may have helped that I was in the pub with a load of gloating Manc when it went in though.

I was stuck on a plane on the tarmac at Heathrow, my lad was in the Kop (with his Grandad instead of me).

He was right in the middle behind the goal, said he'll never forget that moment and I wasn't with him to share it

As silly as it sounds, he was underrated too. In lists of best LFC player ever, you always get the usual suspects in the top 5, Kenny, Emlyn, Souness and the like, but Barnes never seems to get that high on the list, when IMO he should. True legend. He'd rip the league to pieces now.

                        Cristiano Ronaldo my arse...
Actually Barnes came 5th in 100 players who shook the Kop

I think my favourite is still Garcia's against Chelsea in the CL Semi. It wasn't spectacular, but it was so important. I just remember screaming for a penalty when Baros got bought down, going insane with anger when he didn't give it and then going absolutely besurk when the goal was given. I've never been in a crowd like that one in the kop- absolutely incredible!

2nd to that probably Lu's goal against Chelsea in last season's FA Cup semi!

                          Garcia. . .
