It would've produced one of the most spectactular and unique stadiums in the world.

Lets do something amazing - rather than produce an over-grown Reebok.

It doesnt necessarrily have to be symmetrical to be beautiful and create an amazing atmosphere.

I see little point in designing a brand new stadium that will hold 15000 less than old trafford straight off the bat. How is that forward thinking?

Gillett and Hicks have just dropped Parry and Moores plans for the new stadium because the plans wasn't good enough for a club like Liverpool FC. They want us to be the best and not second best.

We should aim to be the best club in the world and Gillett and Hicks clearly thinks that 60k isn't enough to get us to the top.

its not only that though, we have a waiting list of over 50,000 for season tickets, it makes sense to atleast try to accomodate as many of these as we can now.
So for financial reasons and identity reasons we should have something that stands out from the norm.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I'm just happy that our new owners aims for the top and isn't happy to just compete for a CL place.

Moores wasn't rich enough to build anything at all without borrowing all the money he would need to pay for the stadium. A guess is that he just didn't want the club to borrow £400m or whatever a 80k stadium will cost and instead he made the decision not to risk the future of the club and aimed for a cheaper 60k stadium.

Less risk long term for the club but not enough to make us number one again.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Anyone else been to the Telstra Olympic Stadium in Sydney?

It has retractable stands, I kid yee not, to allow the fans to get closer to the pitch depending on what kind of event is being hosted there eg cricket, aussie rules, football.
Could something like that be what the new owners are thinking of. If there is a UEFA category 5 match or an international match scheduled then move the stands back. If there is a premiership match get them closer to the pitch

If costs are going to increase dramatically as a result then we'll just have to sell the naming rights for an exhorbitantly high sum

Id read the thread but its long, but there was a builing planner or somethin on before and he said he doesnt there will be a problem with the plans and that it will be 6 months (i know the 6 motnh thing in the thread) [ersonally i wouldn mind waiting an extra 6 months for a extra 20,000 fans.
As someone else said we have 24,000 season ticket holders with 50,0000 on a list so if we sell 20,000 tickets for a match day now and its a sell out why not just make an extra 20,000 season tickets available and sell 35,000 tickets. If we dont sell out enoug the next season make another 5,000 tickets available via season ticket holders.
This is hicks idea id think, which is probably one of the reasons why moores also liked him being involved and accepted the bid, i rmember him saying when hicks was involved and he spoke to him, he was impressed straight away, so this was obviously talked aboit a while ago.
If we had to sell the naming rights i wouldnt care tha much being hinest because it will always be Anfiled to the Generation of fans alive now, maybe not in 50 years or whatever but ill be old and senile then so i wont care.

I still want to know whether people think a conservatory would be a good idea.
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I don't know. It's Caco's plan. He wants 5 bedrooms although his original plan was only for 3.

I don't know why he posted it on this thread, I think he's missing the point.

I would be more inclined to go for a Sun Room, but I guess it's a personal thing.

I think a main sequence star is a bit of a dangerous thing to keep in a room in your home. It'd be much safer to leave it in the sky where it belongs.
