Yeah but getting people to apply would not be fair as people would have to turn up and apply as post would take to long, phone unreliable and net can be abused. So only the people that could turn up on a week day would benefit - not fair. This was the system set out for Istanbul and already announced at the beginning of the season - why didn't you complain then.

They could've invited applications from as early as the morning after the Chelsea game, plenty of time to post it.

And anyway, even if time was tight, so what? Those who really wanted a ticket would've made SURE they got their applications sent in on time. Fact.

Really? They announced at the beginning of the season that 6 credit fancards would be in the ballot whether their owners applied or not?

      Nah, didnt think so...

Think he meant they said from the start that tickets would be allocated according to attendance of CL games only.

But still, doesn't make a difference the club dropped the ball on this one.

ballots are ballots and its the luck of the draw, i was unfortunate and thats the way it goes but the last thing i wanna hear is rick parry defend himself by saying we are not playing the numbers game. that was just wrong

Yeah, we all knew it'd go down to CL loyalty, no qualms with that.

Putting every 6 credit fecker into the ballot regardless though, was idiotic.

my second point where I said wold that be enough didn't mean would that be enoug tickets. It meant would that be enough for people who are currently upset at the process. Would the club coming out and making a reltively simple but meaningless statement appease them?
No it wouldn't as what ever RP says about numbers going into the ballot people will complain. People are going on about 13000 going into the ballot, 4000 going to 7+ credits. They forget the players get a qty first, then the ex share holders, staff and sponsers, along with corporate shareholders. When you take into consideration all these I would be suprised if 7000 went into the ballot, this is not RP's fault, they are all contractully binding. People are also saying 1 in 8 or 1 in 9 got tickets from the ballot, they have worked this out because between them and their friends only 1 got a ticket, this is not the way to work out the stats and it waists people's energy.
The real problem is Eufa and people should remember this.

7000 seats lost to adverts and over 20,000 going to the Eufa family - stupid, they should back the fans and try to bring the contest closer to the fans and give the whole stadium to the fans, then anything not sold to one set of fans goes to the Eufa family. So if AC are given 30,000 tickets and only selll 15,000 then sell the remainder to the eufa family so as to keep fans seperate.

mate you make a great argument and if parry said this, people would be more accepting

The fact that Parry has chosen not to go down that seemingly obvious and simple route, is what makes people suspect that something else might've been going on.

BTW, it wasnt Tyler who said that in your sig, it was Clive Tyldsley off ITV.

but as you've just said yourself it's tough **** and you'll never get a system that makes everyone happy, however the revealing of the numbers is a different matter

Would you be saying the same if you had been succesful in the ballot? Whether people automatically enter the ballot or have to apply it would still be the same outcome at the end of the day.

So making a poor system even worse is the best course of action then?

Is it a fact becuase you say Fact.
The numbers would change depending on how many went to each game. If so many had not got 6 credits it would mean that 6 credits would have been gaurenteed.
Also don't forget the applications would have to be sorted as well and with the staffing in the ticket office it could have taken years to sort. This was the quickest way and simplest and the system was announced and also used in Istanbul. If we get to another final within the next couple of years expect 7 credits to go into the ballot, it will keep on stepping up as people cotton onto the system.
People are complaining as well that they have paid for flights as well, did every one that booked a flight expect to get a ticket? There was no way, it was a gamble. Before you say anything as well I am a ST holder with 6 credits who did not get a ticket, I accept it and understand it was not to be.

Exactly, you want me to find you the link DJS where it says the attendance will be judged on this competition alone, because i can dig it out if you want
