my brother in law has recently been in touch telling me a similar tale, including the pissing on someone. i wonder if he was sat near you. he was disgusted though by some of the things he saw from our own.Originally posted by Red_hot View PostI said exactly the same to Chris on the night! The game was horrible. Obviously the result didn't help but where we were there was fights kicking off all over the place between our own fans!!!!!!! There were nobheads everywhere. Blokes who had charged in having a go at old blokes, people fighting over whose seat it was, one bloke pissed over a girls foot who was sat next to us. ****ing horrible.
I personally disagree with anyone who condoned them charging the gates. When fans starting legging down the stairs by us and jumping all over the seats when they had rushed the gates it was ****ing scary. Whilst I think UEFA are to blame completely I still think that if you didn't have a ticket you should've stayed the **** away!! As wrong and as ****ty as it was that people didn't have tickets it didn't excuse how some behaved. I haven't been home long so haven't seen much news but I bet the Mancs etc have had a field day.
the more i hear, the more i think there's something for US to tackle too.
i think it may have been phil hammond on the tv who said its 95% UEFA's fault but still 5% ours, and that strikes me as about right.
but that 5% is still too big - especially given the kind of account that you and others have given. this clearly isn't just the odd person being a bit of a cheeky scouser.

I think it's a lot more than 5%. WAY more. But any aspirations are arbitrary.Originally posted by alunevans View Postmy brother in law has recently been in touch telling me a similar tale, including the pissing on someone. i wonder if he was sat near you. he was disgusted though by some of the things he saw from our own.

http://www.theherald.co.uk/sport/the...429516.0.0.phpBill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Oh it's definitely not just UEFA's fault. They were primarily responsible for the whole fiasco, without a shadow of a doubt. From what I saw myself there were no more dickheads about than usual, but I got in early and from what others are saying it sounds to me like there was a disproportionately large amount of these obnoxious ****s around, and we need to do something about them.Originally posted by alunevans View Postmy brother in law has recently been in touch telling me a similar tale, including the pissing on someone. i wonder if he was sat near you. he was disgusted though by some of the things he saw from our own.

Wasn't there but that article is a ****ing joke. Take the piss out of everyone that puts blame at the feet of UEFA and bring up the Boris Johnson issue. Pisstake. Then lauding Gaillard for his "this from the man who invented the Poll tax" what the **** has that got to do with it. If UEFA think they can joke their way out of this then they are a ****ing Joke, which is already obvious.Originally posted by bazza76 View Post

Also to say the venue was suitable because it had held the Olympics, again irrelavant, different animals.
And to answer his question What is the problem with Liverpool fans? Easy one, we are so much more succesfull in Europe than the rest of English teams that we are inevetably put in the spotlight more. All clubs have their knobheads unfirtunatley(?) for us we just get noticed more.
That said, all the gate storming robbing fellow fans tickets etc... is well out of order. My Name is Jonny Depp and I kill people!

I'll agree that Athens is perhaps not as "happening" or has as much to do or as many attractions to see as other capital cities (eg Rome), and is probably not even as nice as other parts of Greece or its islands, but I think it's a bit of a sweeping generalisation to say it's a ****hole.Originally posted by Red_hot View PostOk I agree that maybe had I gone in different circumstances I may have enjoyed it more. However, a Greek bloke we got to know agreed with me.
