Such a very very depressing thread. There are a few equally depressing threads on RAWK, too.
I returned home this lunchtime and opened my email to find 150 new mails - mainly from Mancs and Bluenoses gleefully lapping it all up....delighting in proclaiming "this is a Liverpool problem". :whatever:
We're getting slaughtered from all angles - most of it blinkered, hateful bile of course - but it's clear we have some full-weight c*nts following the club.
But we didn't see any of this in Istanbul, did we? UEFA, the shambolic Greek authorities and our minority of scum all have to shoulder the blame.
I'm really depressed. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The worst I saw in Istanbul was the absolute chaos at the airport after the game. I honestly thought I might end up stranded there. The police carrying rather large guns did something to prevent it escalating though
Getting to the ground was a NIGHTMARE which probably helped prevent more people going on the off chance to bunk in

Was it a Liverpool thing when the mancs charged Roma fans and when the blue****e and manc fans had a fight all the way down Scotland Road after a match a couple of years ago?Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostSuch a very very depressing thread. Interesting thread this, some great posts (and some nonsense). Depressing too though.
Any situation where the number of fans with legitimate tickets is potentially less than the number without has to be handled with extreme professionalism, and it sound like the opposite is what happened. Ticketing and organisation for this final has been a complete debacle from the very start, and it doesn't bear thinking about the carnage that would have happened had it been ManU rather than Milan.
The argument about ScouserTommy's point is just silly. With proper organisation, very few ticketless fans would have existed, or got close enough to the stadium to cause a problem. In normal, professionally organised circumstances, if a few lads are bright enough to blag their way in, there's no problem. In circumstances such as these, where potentially thousands of fake tickets, and inadequate facilities to check them exist, and then these thousands then make it into the ground along with every other tom dick and harry that tries, major issues occur.
The individual fan on the ground cannot be expected to be able to see the bigger picture, at least until its too late and their course of action is already committed. It is the organisers and the authorities that have to do this, and in this case, there seems to have been a systematic failure. That is why UEFA, the Greek organisation, and even the club for its role in creating a ticket shambles, are more to blame than fans for their actions.
There was a unified lfc fan-site consultation thingy being seriously muted, couldn't come soon enough by the sound of all this.Last edited by MrMichael; 24-05-07, 09:10 PM.I could not dig, I dared not rob:

I've not had anyone try and be a smart arse (I don't know any bitter fans), but my hearts sunk a few times today when I was sent pictures and articles about it all. Months, if not years, of educating them ****ed up.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View PostSuch a very very depressing thread. There are a few equally depressing threads on RAWK, too.

I feel a bit guilty for starting it now, I was a bit surprised that no-one had started a thread, but we've talked about it now rather than try and ignore it.Quote of the year :

MrMichael - I saw an excellent suggestion on RAWK (I think) that us fans need to start sticking up for other fans now and stop the mindless minority of scum from ****ing it up for others.
Too many people went far too far yesterday and should be ashamed of themselves. Will they? Will they feck.Quote of the year :
