    Best footballer in the world.

I agree he is fantastic but i would not go as far as saying best in the world, although he is definately up there.

Whose better?Who does for their team as much as Gerrard does?

We are far from a one man team, but my god, when he's on the pitch,we are certainly a far better team,as would any team in the world be.

I have to be honest now that i have thought about it for a few minutes,Ronaldo did almost carry utd to the double on his own last season. He is probably on par with Gerrard.

          That,is some compliment.

he is quite simply one of the best liverpool players of all time.

He's right up there with dalglish, keegan, souness, hughes, barnes, beardsley and rushie.

Yes football is totally different today then it was then but his overall impact on us is without equal. Barnesy was a similar player for that team of the late eighties where he could single handedly win liverpool games they shouldnt have won.

To think that in 3 or 4 years time liverpool fc wont have steven gerrard because he will most probably have retired and we'll be sat here as we are wishing we had a younger gerrard.

its been an absolute privilege watching him play for us and we are so lucky to have him.

              Based on individual performances:

              1. Messi - best in the world, love watching him play.

              2. Ronaldo - Whether you like him or not, the guy gets goals and is hugely talented.

              3 - Gerrard.

Not man enough? I've lost count of the times he's won the game for us on his own. Who was it who screamed for the ball and headed it into the back of the net to start the greatest comeback of all time? Stevie. Who was it who scored that belter against Olympiakos on the way? Stevie. Lets be honest, he's done this so many times.

Its a tad unfair to say he's not worthy because he hasn't won the league titles the likes of Dalglish has (not many have), but he was surrounded by some great players, whilst at times Gerrard has been the only truly world class player in the team.

It amazes me how dismissive some people are of Gerrard's ability. He is the most complete footballer in the world and we are lucky *******s to have him.

                  Steve Gerrard is THE man.

I disagree 100%. Ronaldo helped united to that double, but Rooney, Tevez and the Manu back four had a lot to do with it.

Ronaldo is the best at doing what he does, but he's a luxury player, you need the quality around him to allow him to play his game because they have to pick up the **** he leaves whilst he ponces about. Gerrard does everything very well, maybe not the best at any one element, but he can do it all very well and he's a grafter. He can defend, hold the ball, has great vision, superb passing range, and one of the best long distance shots in the business. I'm fairly confident that Gerrard could play in ANY position in our team and be our man of the match for most games.

The guy is a ****ing special talent.

Maradonna and Pele aren't exactly cerebral giants, being a 'thicky' has nothing to do with it, football genius is a totally different thing, it's a state of being, a natural ability..a gift, and even the thickest kids can be geniuses with a football.

Look at Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, a trio of thicker people would be hard to find.........

Thats what i said.As much for their team. You can't deny his value to Utd.Without him, would utd have won what they did?

                        I doubt it somehow.

Steven Gerrard is, IMO, the greatest player to ever wear that red shirt. Thank you and goodnight.

Best 5 players in the world, for me...in no particular order.

                              Messi
                              Kaka
                              Ronaldo
                              Torres
                              Gerrard

Would he get in to any team in any era? For me yes. I don't like all this best player in the world stuff. Different players, different assets, it's pointless compairing.
