Whatever happened to supporting any player who pulls on our shirt, especially one who, whatever you think of his ability, gives 110% every single game?

We all want a better goal/assist return from Dirk, and many have concerns over his ultimate quality, but this blind dislike you have for everything he does is really far more than silly.
10 outta 10....????boy that was a good laugh

My mate (Liverpool fan) reckons Kuyt is a quicker version of Erick Meijer and Shaun Dundee.

I think Kuyt is a good player but does way too much work outside the box for a striker. A partnership of Voronin & Torres is the way to go forward imo.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

It really pisses me off how many fans know **** all about football these days. Liverpool fans used to be the most knowledgable in the game, but that isnt the case on here.

Kuyt was the one major negative for me today. I'll never question his workrate, how could you? But is he effective? Remember that he's a striker, yet he very rarely gets into a goalscoring positions.

Is it instructions from Rafa or is he just a bottler?

We all know what Crouch will bring to the table, and Voronin looks an interesting player.

No player should ever get in the side based on his workrate alone, especially a striker/forward. He needs to do more, be it scoring or creating.
was riise. Kuyt did very wlll today imo

I don't agree with you Marky!

I feel that, given time, both Kuyt and Torres could form a great partnership together, but with Crouch and Voronin also in the reckoning there'll always be rotation. FT and DK will be our main duo though.

Give the Crow or Crouchy a go up there alongside Torres, maybe even Babel if Rafa fancies playing him up there.
He's started nearly every game since he's joined us, now it's his turn to sit it out for a while until he rediscovers his goalscoring touch.
I'm sorry mate but you're wrong apart from workrate he does offer a threat, didn't Cech have to tip over from him today. How many times did Drogba make Pepe work today.
Added to that I listen to people slate Kuyt saying he can't do it at the top level, I watched the highlights of Semi Finals against the Chavs in May and he scored a perfectly good goal hit the cross bar and had numerous other attempts.
His assists are good and he chipped in with 14 goals last season, one more than Crouch in his first season.
He made the goal last week against Villa and caused problems for the chavs today, none of our players were brilliant second half but we'll put that down to the **** in black as he disrupted the game so much with ****e decisions it was unreal.

I agree mate there's a good partnership in the making there something we haven't seen in a while.
Let Dirk do the work and score 15-18 goals but if he provides Torres with ammunition and he scores a **** load more, I'll be happy.

Kuyt's a decent player but no more than that. We all love his attitude and workrate but truth be told at the very top level, he's no more than average.

look at it like this. If you listed the best strikers in the league kuyt wouldn't make the top dozen or so. now for a first choice player for us, thats not good enough.

Wel then, in that case he's a certain strter then isn't he. He was our top goalscorer last season in the league so that's why he's started this season.
