Crouch is liked by everyone in our squad, Drogba is loathed by everyone in our squad. You might swap them in an instant, however there is more to player recruitment than solely footballing skills.

I'm obviously talking purely about footballing skills, because the swap is clearly never gonna happen.

Yes, I could go with that, however you mentioned earlier that 'nobody can deny he's a class player' and I disagreed with that. As class for me (maybe you just chose the wrong word and I'm being a pedantic ****) includes everything about the player. 'A very good player' might have been more ample, however he is not 'class' due to aforementioned reasons. I won't go on and be a pedantic **** though lol so I'll leave it at that.

I guess drogba does seem to tick all the boxes but there is no class about him his cheating makes him a complete arse also I think eto is better than him and I certainly wouldn't swap torres for him.

Jesus, sure he's been great but people are going way over the top. It's only been 4 games. He's showed a lot of good, but he's showed there are still areas that he can improve on and will improve him. People are labelling him a "great" finisher. I think that department of his game needs to be worked on from the sample we've had of him so far. He's taken his 3 goals well, but there have been a 2 or 3 other easy chances that I'd expect a striker that cost 20+ to stick away. I'm enthusiastic and very pleased from what he's done thus far but people on here are going way overboard.

Eto is not as good an all round player as Torres.

Have you seen Eto'o play? He's faster, probably a better dribbler, more direct and a better finisher. He's more explosive, I'd have Eto'o (uninjured) here over Torres.

So right now would you swap Torres for any of the following:

1. Samuel Eto'o - yes
2. David Villa - yes
3. Didier Drogba - possibly
4. Dimitar Berbatov - no
5. Wayne Rooney - possibly, different players though
6. Carlos Tevez - same as above
7. Anybody else

Torres has been brilliant, surpassed all my expectations. There was reason why fans of every major european club have been dreaming about him every summer , Now I understand why. My Manc mates were dejected when he signed for us. One of them said to me that we have signed a striker who has so much latent talent, who has all the tools in his locker to become one of the most complete strikers of this generation.

still think eto was rafa's first choice though and moved for torres when it became apparant he wouldn't be given a blank check.

eto'o would cost 20M more and would have virtually GUARANTEED goals but he is getting a tad injury prone now.
pound for pound I guess torres is more value but imho eto'o is the world best striker

so you would expect him to have scored 5 or 6 after the 4 games? The fact of life is ALL strikers miss opportunities, I would regard RVN as the best finisher in the game and playing for scum he had a hatful of chances every game, missed a few scored a few, thats the way it goes with top level strikers. Show me a striker that does not miss a few!!

I would take torres over Eto btw for the attitude if nothing else
