Trying not to get too excited about the lad, but it's not easy!
What impresses me about him also is that he seems to have the right MENTALITY. He works hard for the team, and is only selfish when it makes sense to be. He seems to be mature beyond his years and to be unfazed by any challenge. His confidence has got to be sky high after 3 PL goals and by all the reports emanating out of Anfield, the guys is "as happy as a pig in ****" to be playing for us!

He's got absolutely everything in his armoury to be a superstar - so much for not getting excited!!

Can anyone confirm this for me or did I always just imagine it…

When Rafa first joined us and was getting interviewed, when asked about potential signings, he said that if he had an open cheque book, Torres would be his first signing. At the time though it would cost about £50m to prize him away so there was no chance.

I always had this at the back of my mind and because of it Torres was second choice for me behind Villa, but was it even said because no one else seems to remember it and I can’t find the quote?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

another thing, after a good kicking from the premiership yard dogs I thought he wouldn't fancy it but he just gets up and gets on with it.

also how many strikers have absolutely everything

                pace
                power
                work rate
                awareness of team mates
                heading
                ability with both feet
                technique
                finishing
                big game mentality

that list whittles the world strikers down to about TWO

so much better than I thought he'd be.

Not me. He's been nothing short of exceptional.

I'm sure i posted earlier in ths summer that i'd rather have Tevez than Torres.

Decisions list that obviously explains why Rafa is manager of Liverpool FC and i'm not.

The guy is absolute class, better than I thought he was, didn't realise how fast he was and how good he was technically. And the guy can finish, plus he works his balls of to win the ball back....

I would have said Ronaldo(Milan) but then I saw the work rate bit.

                          David Villa.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
