Yes he went a bit wayward at the end but he did a lot for us and that shouldn't be forgotten. He put us back on the map and gave us some wonderful times. Yeah, that really puts him Souness' league doesnt it? Or is it fashionable to slate him and make yourselves feel better in the knowledge you were right to say get rid of him?Originally posted by Dhavlos View PostHoullier was a crook and deserves every bit of stick he gets IMO.
RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFAEL BENITEZ!

Not at all, you could say that about anyone. Bottom line is, during his reign for a lot of reasons, I felt less for the club than at anytime I can remember.Originally posted by Red_hot View PostSay what you like but I know he gave you the most pride in being a red since Kenny. It would be easier to be proud of him and claim he was great due to that treble but I just don't see it that way. I couldn't stand him when he was in charge and was absolutely ecstatic when he was sacked. My love for the club came flooding back even before Benitez was mentioned as a successor as I knew the dark days would be behind us. To put things into perspective, when Alan Curbishley was announced as one of the favourites to take over I didn't bat an eyelid!

Bill.
Houllier were after personal glory, that is the big difference between him and Rafa for example.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

What has that to do with it?Originally posted by Red_hot View PostWas he an egomaniac when you were jumping up and down celebrating our treble win?
He had the walls in his office full of pictures of himself lifting trophies to remind himself of how good he is.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

Are you seriously questioning that? What's wrong with it if it gives him a boost every now and thenOriginally posted by AFII View PostWhat has that to do with it?

If you won the FA cup would you not stick a photo of it up above the fireplace?Contrary to popular belief, I have huge genitals.

He was there when I started supporting Liverpool. There seemed to be a mystique about the club back then and Bob was the, slightly incongruous, front man who only spoke when he had something to say.
Shankley was before my time, so when I think of LFC - I think of Bob Paisley
Same here.
