Still don't trust him to stay fit myself.

Pay as you play deal would be about right.

Im giving him as much support as i can, but he's still far off the pace. I saw him close up today and although he looked like threatening, theres still alot missing. Id say he's at about 70% just now. Hopefully over the next few weeks he will start producing

We look so much better when he is fit and playing. He has a lot of the same quality as Torres/SG. The ability to change a game when we need it the most.

The chances of a title this season is somewhere in between Kewell, Gerrard and Torres all staying fit. IMO those three are key to a successful season more than anything else.

We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

Yes we LOOK better with Harry Kewell but what we need is not a good LOOK. We need harry to stay fit and an end product from him. It's all very good to run at defenders but no use unless he makes something happen.

I know im being a tad harsh, but we'll see how things pan out over next few weeks

It's a sad endictment of the lack of talented wide players in the world these days that we are relying on Kewell.
Don't get me wrong, he's a good player, but he's been savaged by injuries and we should be able to replace him with someone who can stay fit and give us a similar end product.
There just aren't many half decent wingers out there in world football, I have no idea why

There really are few options out there on the left and although he owes us you have to realise a fit Kewell would be on close to 100k/week due to his quality on the left being so rare. It comes down to what our medical team feel his chances are of regaining long term fitness IMO. We make an offer based on that but I suspect he will accept a pay reduction not sure if a pay for play option would be accepted as I am sure some others offer plenty more.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

We should offer/he should accept a contract along the lines of 15-20 k/week plus bonuses based on appearances. That's similar to pay for play but it also gives Kewell the incentive he needs to keep himself fit and find top form.
This contract situation will show exactly how much Kewell WANTS to play for LFC. He could easily take a pay increase and sign for someone like Spurs/Newcastle and never win nowt.

I think that is fantasy. He's not that stupid. I know we think he should play for near nothing but you have to realise if he stays fit there will be some big clubs interested in a free Harry Kewell.

Perhaps 40k-50k/week with playing/scoring bonuses taking him up to a potentially similar wage is the best we could hope for. That for me would show his loyalty.

Well whatever the figures are, i think it should be a reduced wage plus bonuses based on appearances.

Unless he breaks down badly again which means he will probably end up in the A League.
