he's finished. I'd rather have N'Zogbia if we're going for barcode wingers.

Harry ought to pay back the laoyalty and faith the club/rafa has shonw in him. He could have been shipped out and no one could have really complained but he does make a massive difference to the side when he's in and p;laying well. He can be a match winner. 1 or 2 years on a reduced, incentive based contract would be fair given he has been on a massive wage for the past 4-5 years. he should have enough in the bank to tide him over."I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.

You lot are funny!
You think that because he has been injured for the best part of 2 years that he has just been sitting back and watching the TV, whilst collecting his pay check!
The reality is that he has probably worked the hardest and been one of the most dedicated of all the players, to come back time and time again from injury.
To say he has not shown commitment is outrageous! To reason that because he has been injured he should be on less money than Neil Mellor was on…. That’s a joke, it has to be.
He should be offered a contract extension of 2 years on the same deal.
or even 1 year on the same deal

With his injury record that would be ridiculous. I'm all for offering him a new contract if he proves his fitness but for far less than what he's on now.Originally posted by Michael View Post

Mike whilst I agree with your sentiments, the fact of the matter is he is suspectable to injury, is no spring chicken and we have yet to see a full season out of the guy. Pay as you play is complete madness and just goes to show the level of common sense some people have. But a reduced 1 year contract is not out of the question to me. This last plum contract he negotiated was when he was much younger with a bigger reputation for performances on the pitch rather than operating table. Sure he could get better money at somewhere like Spurs perhaps but for me he has a chance to make the LM postion his own this year and next.
I like Harry, I love the way he plays and I have been saying for years I want him to be as big a hit as he can be, but I have also said for years he needs and extended run of top performances, he needs to stay fit and take it to the top levels. Hes there now and can only get better .. He has another 3 years of top team potential for me.Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

Fair point ... how about this ... rather than talk about money (because to be honest all we know is news paper numbers), lets talk about players...
Maybe offer him a 1 year rolling deal that is equal, in terms of basic pay to that of..... Finnan, or maybe Riise? How does that sound? He provides the same level of value to those guys dont you think?
Then to sweeten the deal I would suggest a more generous bonus scheme and appearance package..... Because potentially, has the ability to be as valuable as Gerrard or Torres… right?
What do you think?

Some real nonsense here.
He doesnt have the potential to be as valuable as Gerrard or torres, that's utter tripe.
His value is totally different to the likes of finnan - finnan is 100% consistent, reliable and hardly ever injured. The opposite of harry. Not that it's kewell's fault, but you base each case on it's own individual merit and the harry kewell of today is not a safe long-term or expensive investment. Fact. So you structure any new deal accordingly. His last contract was based on the quick dynamic winger we signed from Leeds. He isnt that anymore and his new deal (if he gets one) should (and will) reflect that.

I doubt the manager shares your view!
Anyway, his fit market value at the end of the season will be about £3-4m ish so you really think that we will be able to secure his services for about £1m a year over say a 2 year period? Thats a £2m profit.... come on, get real!
I'll talk money again, although we shouldn’t, 40-50k a week, 1 year with a 1 year extension.
Thats a fair market value!
