Thats why I used the term Market Value! Becasue who ever signs him will have a player that they could sell for £4m or so!
Let me break it down for you....
I offer Kewell a £1 contract for 2 years... he says yes, then I sell him for £2m the next season, I make a bit of cash... you see!
That is the way agents see these things....
His Market Value is about £4m... not his vaue to the club, his value to the club is Zero becasue of the Bosman ruling which you so helpfully pointed out for us.
So whoever signs him will have to make an offer that reflects his Market Value...... the other option is he plays for less for who he wants to, but after the way the fans have treated him.... i dont know what might happen there?

lol .. thats what i said! Stop changing your story!Originally posted by DJS View PostBut even then, why not a one year deal, with the option of another year's extension?
Why commit to two years straight off the cuff? Makes no sense.
"I'll talk money again, although we shouldn’t, 40-50k a week, 1 year with a 1 year extension.
Thats a fair market value!"Last edited by Michael; 03-12-07, 07:29 AM.

I am not saying that is what we will offer straight off. If we get away with 1 year + 1yr ext, great. I just think that is where we will end up.Originally posted by DJS View PostBut even then, why not a one year deal, with the option of another year's extension?

BTW can everyone slow down a bit, having trouble keeping up

If he decides he prefers the money route, then let him go, i couldnt give a ****e. If he doesnt want to stay, repay the faith of rafa and the fans and play for LFC, then i certainly dont want to see us offering him MORE money.Originally posted by Skillz View PostMost likely needed to fend off more lucrative 3 year deals was my thinking.
BTW you can stick your
up your arse.
And just for you:

Yeah but you aren't doing the negotiating (thank god). I'm just being realistic that when it comes down to it he will play for less than what is being offered but he will still want what he see's as a fair wedge.
And seeing as we are acting like 4 year olds here, have this

So you think £40k isnt a fair wedge for a player who's played about 10 times in 2 years?Originally posted by Skillz View PostYeah but you aren't doing the negotiating (thank god). If he wants more, then he's being a mercenary and feck him.

If he did that, whoever he managed would lose everygameOriginally posted by fredo View PostDo you fancy a shot at managing a football club ?
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Well TBH I think 40k/wk is a fair wedge for any footballer but thats another story.Originally posted by DJS View PostSo you think £40k isnt a fair wedge for a player who's played about 10 times in 2 years?

All I have done is post what I think we will end up paying. Again
40k/pw with incentives to earn 60-70k/wk if he has a strong season. In is not that far removed from what you are saying and lets be fair and reasonable here. If Harry has a strong season would you care if he got 65k/wk or equivelant?Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24
