United spent heavily in the summer, but the manager will ask the Glazers to loosen the purse strings again next month. It helps that United are preparing to announce record turnover for the financial year ending June 30. David Gill, the chief executive, predicted this year that United would achieve “dramatic growth” and the club are expected to announce record revenue of more than £200 million and profits of at least £60 million, with the Glazers enjoying significant increases in the club’s match-day and commercial revenue as they move towards their ambitious target of profits of £108.9 million by 2011.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

God forbid if he ends up playing for a prem rival Wld be a fcuk up of major proportions by our club. If we won't sign him, then I hope he's off to Spain or Italy.

Hmmm. Mocking someone who has a genuine concern about where the club is heading under owners who have already proved they play hard and fast with the truth and whose business acumen in running a major English soccer club leaves a lot to be desired :whatever:

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, doom and gloom then...............well im not sure. People, be very careful who you listen to when it comes to 'information', and even more careful when others interpret it first before passing it on. Not having a go at Tom or anyone else here for their sentiment or feeling for the club, however...........a few years ago I was in a position to know people at the club, much more so than today, and the stuff I was told sometimes beggared belief. Basically, if you think were being shafted now you should have been around 20 years ago!!! I was also told some complete and utter bull****, from senior people, players and non-playing staff.
Those of you who read a certain paper (whichever one it is) choose to do so because your comfortable with its style, and its reporting. You tend to know how to judge what is said by HOW they say it, and also know when to take stuff with a pinch of salt. The Echo is no different than any other paper in this respect, and i'd is really a provincial rag in so many ways. I mean, Bascome worked for them until recently!! and McNulty, beware of his arcane ramblings as well. For many years Ian Hargraves was chief sportswriter for the Echo, highly respected and all that. not that he saw that many full games, 'cos theres no view of the pitch from the bars at Anfield!!!!
My point is, unless you hear it reported as a direct quote, in context, dont believe ANYTHING second hand. and certaily dont reach for the sleeping pills because of what one person at the echo sports desk says.

The club is one of their assets. Doesn't really matter who's name is on the loan agreement either at the end of the day it will be secured on their assets and it makes no sense to secure it on a different asset (I doubt the fans of their other teams would appreciate that either).

Good description of a leveraged buyout btw, was trying to figure out a way to describe it for peeps

football is buisness these days and think people should see the long term.

apart from Roman who does seem to off tightened his purse strings - no one will come in and loose money on a club, even if its thier club.

The people with money are also the people who know how to make it and not the ones who throw it away.

Maybe not going the unite route in the Sky era has cost us big time with the PL.

If someone esle came in a and promiised the world and then costs went up they'd too look at cutting costs, its buisness.

I might be wrong but arn't we still on course to get a better stadium than pre the yanks?
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

                            Sorry mate.

Just seems to me a few people have overreacted to Tom's post. The guy is genuinely worried, and with good cause if you believe just half of what we've been seeing and hearing the last few days and weeks. He does tend to go overboard on the pessimism as if to rally support for the team, but that doesn't necessarily make any of his concerns less genuine or legitimate. I mean it's not like he's a WUM is it?
