Why would you expect two blokes from America, one who confessed he knew feck all about Liverpool, to start spending millions of dollars over here?

All the money we're spending is linked to the club - and I'd be HUGELY surprised if our cost-base hadn't risen significantly since the takeover, what with purchases and expensive NEW contracts for existing players.

You know what I mean tomas, don't make as if I'm not grasping it mate.

Probably mate, but prize money doesn't reflect if you won or not. Chelsea made more money than us even though we reached the final.

If you do some quick maths, you'll see where the Torres money came from and how much we've recouped in player sales and salaries etc ... No, it's not facts, but these americans hardly told the true story when they came isn't it ?

Yet the club still bought Torres, Babel, Benayoun and Itandje in the summer. Yeah the count was spot on there.

We didn't splash any cash in the summer. We spent pretty much what we normally spend. And less than Sunderland as it happens. But I'm not going to repeat that argument ad nauseum.

Not even going to bother answering. Rafa got incredibly pissed off about nothing then. Perhaps he had toothache?

cya, pointless wasting my time on here.

Because they've said that they were gonna buy snoogy doggy.

I'm prepared to give these guys the benefit of the doubt though, so I'll wait and see.

if we sign nobody in the january window (and i'll have a small charity bet that we do), it wont constitute loss of our club.

if we dont sign mascherano - in january or ever - lfc will still have an excellent, progressive side

if the yanks are not blowing money hand over fist because they need to find extra money for the ground then so be it.

if rafa benitez leaves because of dissatisfaction with the above (2nd charity bet anyone???) it would be a big big setback but it wouldnt constitute loss of the club

I feel particularly robbed by those Septics as I had Snoogy Doogy on the back of my home shirt in the summer. Clearly the move never materialized. Seems they've taken us for a rides.

If you were minted and had the opportunity to purchase an American Football Franchise - would you then pump in a load of your own money? It's some risk....

Expenditure has to be linked with income, otherwise you'd be called Roman and own several large yachts.

So you shouldn't have bothered posting in it.

None of the above will cause a disaster, not even LFC being relegated if you ask me as I'll still be supporting the club.

It's the constant patronisation of posters which is tiring. You can't have a serious discussion without people questioning your motives. FFS, grow up guys.
FFS Fredo, you do like to stir dont you?! There is no slagging off of Tom, just reputable posters (as is he) questioning what he's saying and asking for more details

You cant take some weird moral highground and tell people not to bother posting in the thread, neither can you seriously tell others to grow up

In all seriousness, I think Tom has every right to post what he likes without any vitriol or slagging off, but by the same degree other posters have every right to debate what he's said, or question / ask for more details. Its surely the point of a forum
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

I wasn't intimating at the fact that they should put their own money. But it's their duty (as custodians of the club) to ensure we have money to compete with the best, be it through raising money through whichever means.

In the same sense, it would be ridicule to buy a club just for the sake of it.
