the difference hear is that the club is guaranteeing the debt hence it pays a high interest due to the risk.

Moores couldnt underwrite the stadium costs, nobody would loan him that kind of money

G&H are not underwriting the stadium cost either. The loan will be taken out by the club, secured on the club and repayed by the club. The bank will be lending the money to LFC not G&H. If the club cannot make the payments it will be the clubs assets that are taken by the bank not G&H's. Their personal wealth doesn't come in to it. If a bank is prepared to loan the business the money they will do so based on the ability of the business to repay it. Who the owner of the business is is irrelevant. The ability of LFC to make the repayments if no different now than before.

Moores' idea for investment would have been that the new owners would inject new money into the club (i.e. put some of their own money in). G&H have no intention of doing this and so we are no better off than under Moores.

what puzzles me about all this stuff is that so called 'intelligent' people are surprised the americans bought as an an 'investment'.

I was never in any doubt about this. We'll be fine just like the Scum as long as football is popular. When it dies and it will then thats the time to start crying. It'll be too late and that goes for all the other foreign owned clubs.

If we wanted to sell out to someone who loved the club then that guy was Morgan. But alas he didn't have sufficient funds. It also makes me laugh that everyman and his dog slagged off old Roman down at the bridge for buying the title yet by recent events thats exactly the type of figure most of us were after on here. Someone with deep enough pockets to buy which ever player the manager required. Its not all about money as Arsenal have proved, not only does Wenger get on with it without moaning to the press ala Rafa the club has resisted selling out to foreign owners. They are proud of their history and in the main get on with it.

Forgive me, I thought a Liverpool fans forum with 'fans' posting on it was just that. An opportunity for us to discuss our club but it seems more and more posts are becoming depressing, anti Rafa, anti Liverpool, anti Owners etc.. I appreciate some posters on here have inside info and I for one appreciate them posting what they can when they can.
But the bottom line is do any of us really know what is going on? wasn't it only a week or so ago that the all knowing Chris Bascombe wrote that Rafa was getting the sack and because he used to write for the Echo and had contacts etc.. everyone took it as gospel well he was still in the dug out last night.
The point I'm trying to make is if I wanted to have my day filled with depressing, doom and gloom anti Liverpool conversation I'd chat to my father-in-law or my mates who are Manc and Arsenal fans.
If we can't stay positive what hope is there?

Yes, there has been teething problems. But surely this happens with every new appointment in any large organisation. There are big egos everywhere (Rafa not withstanding) & it SEEMS that the owners are trying to appease the ****storm that happened. Put it down to experience & hope that that the dust settles as the big swinging dicks are holstered once more.

To condemn the downscaling in the stadium at this stage is a little rash. Can we still not hope that the re-re-revised stadium will be awesome? Just wait and see - you might be surprised. In the mean time how can we judge it till we see it? It makes no sense to. Anyway, have you seen the prices of raw materials these days? It's a bit like the residental housing mkt here.....Up Up Up & away.... fueled by India & China. So the cost will have gone up & we're not talking about monopoly money here.

It's after the January window closes that we will begin to see clearer indications of the situation. Will Marsher have signed?....a new defender perhaps? Or will we be peering longingly at the orange in the bottom of our santa stockings? Perhaps Rafa will be leading us to a (heaven forbid) title challenge?

If I recall correctly aswell, it was only last summer aswell, Bascombe did a doomsday article about the new owners, saying how we were in trouble, how dissillusioned he has become, and then fecked off on holiday.
Turned out the summer he predicted, turned out to be the exact opposite.
But not a word from Bascombe in relation to his pre holiday article on his return.
