I mean how can anyone in their right mind EXPECT us to win the title?

I think it's unlikely we'll win the title but to use those doubts and to ignore our games in hand so that one can reach the desired, negative conclusion about being "out of the title race by early January" is entirely unwarranted.
Spot on Neil.
It makes me cringe how some posters/journalists say we are out of the title race already.
Some people need to cheer up

So you expect us to win the title then? If you don't, you agree with me and if you do, you're the nutter. And also if you don't (meaning you do agree with me), then you're also the nutter for calling ME a nutter for saying something you agree with.Originally posted by Armchairkopite View PostYour on a wind up.
Nutter.
You're now in a bit of a dilemma.

Fact is, we have a chance of winning it, of course we do. We have abetter chance that 16 teams and a worse chance that 3 teams. It's not rocket science. Only 4 teams have what you call a 'serious' chance and this is the way it is at the start of every prem season, which is in fact why there is a big FOUR and not just a big three.

i think different people have different ways of defining the top 3 (or is it top 4
). For me it is a top four as they are the four who qualify for the champions league and usually are competing for the league, fa cup, league cup and in europe. Consistently over the last 5 years or so the top four have been us, utd, chelsea, arsenal
Although the negative people have a very valid arguement that we can't win the league to say we are out of it is a bit ott imo. If we win our two games in hand we are 7 points behind arsenal. For me personally i just want us to be involved in the title race at the latter stages of the season - if we can be 7 points behind with say 10 or even 5 games left to play I think it would be a great improvement and we would certainly have competed/be pushing all the way and something to shout about
This season we have at times played some of the best football for ages, it's just unfortunate that we are behind the other 3 and every time we improve those *******s seem to raise the bar again. But we are nowhere near a million miles away like some people are acting like. I agree it was very dissapointing to have only taken 2 points from 9 at home to chelsea/utd/arsenal - but finally (i hope i don't jinx us now
) we have started to put some performances in were we have just destroyed some of the lesser teams. Obv no team can do that every week and we have had one or two slip ups along the way, but in all in all we are moving forward with regards to our football.
The major issues are making masher a permenant player and then strengthen the defence and improve the attack - so maybe 3 quality players away from being a real consistent top sidei own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Sorry, but only 3 teams have a serious chance of winning the title. How can you justify our inclusion as a serious contender when the best we've managed is 2nd place in the last 18/19 years????
It wouldn't matter if there was a Big5, Big6 or Big 15 - it still wouldn't make us any more likely to win the league!

I find myself in a very strange position on the Forum - despite my scepticism regarding our manager and whether he can /can't get us the title I am feeling quite upbeat about our challenge this season.
I feel that we will be challenging until the last two/three games which will be an indicator of positive things happening at the club. I think we'll stay close enough to put the other three (of the big four...) under some severe pressure in the coming months. I think we'll be close enough to change the dynamic of the Chelsea/Utd/Arsenal away games such that we may just nick some points off of them.
I still don't think we'll win it - and when we don't it'll not be because of the games with the other three, but it's not over just yet....Francis.
