I feel though that a longer stint (un-broken) in the team for the likes of Babel up front and Benayoun, maybe Kewell might see the goals getting spread about.

I look at Benayoun. A confidence player if ever there was one. I'd be much more confident in getting the goods from him if he played more regularly. Even if it was out wide . Babel the same.

Again, not to be labouring the point, but the fact that these two players can't get into a groove through regular footy cannot help their game....can't help the team....

That team should have won the match at a canter. Plenty chances not enuf goals. Kuyt has been no goal threat anyway so he most likely wouldnt have made any difference. I do think he should have started crouch though.

8 shots on goal is not plenty against Wigan at home

We don't get enough players in the box, arriving at the right time. When we set ourselves up for crosses, we don't play crouch, or play 1 up front.

A combination of tactics and our style of play (coaching) is inhibiting us from reaching the potential in our squad imo.

I think our first, say 13/14 players are good enough to get within 10 points of the PL champions. A simplified approach from the manager, I suspect, would get the best out of them.

For sure, we need wingers. We've never had the money to get decent ones. Same with our strikers, we've all seen the difference between a 10m striker (Kuyt) and a 20m striker (Torres).

It's all about the financial backing, which Rafa has NOT had.

He has had backing Shags - he's just never chosen to spend the money on one QUALITY player and chosen to spread it around to buy more than one player. The purchase of Pennant & Bellamy is exactly a case in point. We bought 2 below par players at £6-7m that didn't address either need we had at the time. £14m would have bought a different class of winger or striker than that which we got.
