I like Rafa's tactics and I think he do what is best for the club and players long term.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think he will do an excellent job at his next club. I don't know if it will be as a manager or no2 but he knows what he is doing.Just believe and you never know what will happen.

(They're my examples I'm not saying we should or will or.....................**** it!)
We basically have one striker and Torres needs help what if he got injured we'd be screwed and Rafa knows he cant rotate him after making that mistake agaisnt Brum earlier this season and our wingers are a raw Babel that needs to find his place in the team Kewell thats been out for two years and is a shadow of the man that came to us and then theres JP

The sum of our individuals seems to equal less than it should be as a team, to be honest i don't really enjoy our style of play at all most of the time - Arsenal area a great example of how we should play whilst being succesful and consistant. Consistancy is still our biggest problem and there buck stops at the top. This has nothing to do with spend or the players, if we were conistantly rubbish it makes it easier to swallow then being brilliant now and again, and mediocre or awful at others. Not sure who the answer is or whether JM is a false idol, but he definitely knows how to get his players playing out of their skins for him. I have yet to see our players do this for Rafa on a regular basis. Also footballers are a fickle bunch, most go where the money is, and loyalty to a manager or club on the most part is transient.

Jose does what he needs to in order to win things. He was an arrogant (sometimes downright cunty) ******* when manager of the Chavs - but maybe he needed to be. I believe he'd change tack if he ever became manager of LFC. He knows our history and knows all about our club. He's more than aware of what kind of person it takes to be the manager of Liverpool.
He'd play on the fact that we were the greatest club in England and play on the fact that our club has an amazing set of fans, etc.
I reckon the vast majority of us would all be playing along to Jose's tune after his first LFC press conference.
Not saying I want Rafa sacked. Not at all. I love him.
BUT I'm pretty sure I'd love Jose too. And so would YOU

As I've said above, my preferred position is:
1) DIC to buy LFC
2) Rafa to be retained as manager
3) Rafa to be backed financially enough to compete with the Top 3
3) Rafa to change his mindset with regard to rotation / formation changing etc.
However, IF Rafa goes, I would welcome Mourinho with open arms. The reasons?
1) the man is a born winner
2) the man has the confidence and arrogance of a born winner
3) the man is intelligent & multilingual (communication is imporrtant)
4) he is one of the top echelons of managers currently available who could (theoretically) manage our club for years and take us into a new era (Rafa could too)
5) he has managed in the Premiership and knows what it takes to win it
I honestly believe Mourinho is a modern day Shankly. What a lot of people object to on here is what I love about him. Some call it classless, I call it outspoken. For those of you who are old enough, Shankly said some outrageous things to other players, and about other teams - but it was no different to Mourinho's more recent outbursts. But we loved it - because he was ours. But the biggest reason we loved it? Was because he had one thing Mourinho doesn't appear to have..HUMILITY. He was a man of the people. But these days football is so far removed from the people that there is no way Shankly could relate to us supporters in the modern era. Let's face it - HUMILITY in general has gone from our society. In general, everywhere you look it's all about "me, me,me". Mourinho is an intelligent man. I beleieve he wanted to join us before he went to Chelsea, but money talked and we simpley couldn't compete - the Abramovich revolution was in full swing...and be honest, which manager wouldn't have jumped at that opportunity at that time? Our own local boy captain was within a hair's breadth of joining it. IF Mourinho joins LFC, he will be smart enough to know he would't be able to get away with the antics and soundbites he used at Chelsea. He will quickly realise that most Scousers are very different animals to Cockneys, and will act accordingly. But hew will also know his football history. He will know about, Shankly, Paisley, Fagan & Dalglish. He will have seen the 2005 CL celebrations in the City and been absolutely dumbfounded. He will realise just how much he will be loved and revered he will be if he brings the title back to Anfield, again and again. Yes, ideally we want somebody whose "only done it for us in England" (I don't like the thought of us being taken to the title by a Chelsea cast off, but I don't like even more the thought of us going more than 26 years without a league title). I would love to see Rafa stood in a Shankly-like pose with his arms outstetched to the Kop, but if it's Mourinho holding the trophy when he does that - I'll applaud the man. If we have a title to celebrate at the end of the last season at Anfield or after our first season in our new stadium, I'll be a happy man.
So IF (and I mean IF) Mourinho is our next manager (and I honestly belive he will be - I've been saying it for weeks), I'll give him every chance, same as I did with Rafa.
Long live the Rafalution and a change of cirumstances and most of all mindset.

i agree completely colin...
i think that mourinho is the closest person in football to what shanks used to be....
the thing that mourinho does better THAN ANY MANAGER IN WORLD FOOTBALL is take all the pressure off his players and deflects it onto himself - when he was chav manager, there was practically no media attention on his players because he deflected it all onto himself. All that self-proclaimed "special one" stuff was just a ploy to take the focus off the players.
If mourinho was lfc manager, then before a game against chelsea, he would say something along the lines of "chelsea will never be as big as liverpool no matter how much they spend" - and a lot of fans would love him for **** like that then.....

With regard to my earlier comment about supporting the manager whoever it may be I think I need to clarify although Neil already touched on it. You don't need to like a person to support them. I didn't like Souness as a person but he got my support. I didn't like Ged because I thought he was boring and actually a bit mad but he still got my support. I don't like Jose but he will still get my support if he ends up as manager. Chanting for Rafa after he has left (if and when it happens) when there is a new man in place is pointless. Whether we like it or not our support for any new manager will be crucial for the progression of the club just as support so far has shown the owners that Rafa has the vote of the fans. I don't particularly want Jose in as I'd rather Rafa was given money to fulfill his destiny. However if events dictate that he leaves and we get someone else then I for one will not be shouting abuse from the terraces at him much like I think booing is pointless.

I wouldn't let them **** you up DS. There is no truth in it.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostIt's the Klinsman stories that sh!t me up. He's done nothing in club management and when Mourinho was a dead man walking last season, his name cropped up as a potential successor and now the same is happening with Rafa.
Not even Parry is that naive.Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.
* After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

[QUOTE=Dhavlos;
Personally, I think Rafa should be here next season regardless of what happens this. I think he's achieved enough in time here to get another year.[/QUOTE]
Quite right bud
Hell, look how fergie scum had before he won a major trophy, he had to do what Rafa's doing now and that is; building a squad capable of winning things.
Some people tend to foget what Rafas achieved in his three years in charge, AND with a squad he inherited from GH, ok, Rafa made a few additions to the team when he took over, never the less, he was left with a lot of deadwood which in time, has been gotten rid of.
I personally think that last year was the first time since Rafa took over, has had the funds to enable him to go after targets that he (Rafa) wanted / needed to really benifit the team, and IF and its a big IF, Rafa is given sufficient funds to take us that bit further then, i think that we Will win number1924Carra Gold

By the way I think it's time to circle the wagons. Rafa needs our support from wherever it may be. His job is on the line. I don't agree with some of his tactics or his purchases but now is not the time for it. The press are in the process of hounding him out and if there is one thing I hate more than any other it's the press. So I think its time to draw a line under any anti Rafa stuff.

The biggest thing wrong with rafa's regime is that the quality of our forward is just not there. If we had 4 quality strikers then all this jinking around with our team wouldn't have made a difference. He just needs to buy some proper forward players to accompany torres. Dunno wtf his problem is with crouch who one of the most effective strikers in the league
