There's some quite valid points there.Originally posted by Sheik Yerbouti View PostWell Everton, Villa and City have had a LOT less to spend than Rafa and their managers are doing just as good a job as 'The Tactical Genius'.
I agree he hasn't had the funds that Chelsea and Utd's managers have been blessed with but the squad he has assembled should be doing much much better.
He's moaned about funds yet still prefers Voronin and Deadly Dirk above a player he spunked £11m on.
His pig-headedness sees him preferring Voronin and Deadly Dirk above Crouch. Whether Crouch is good enough or not for Liverpool is irrelevant. He's a striker. Give him a run in the team and let's see what he can do.
Rafa will us trophies in Europe until they are coming out of our ears but he simply hasn't got a clue on how to succeed in the Premiership. We've got a better squad than Houllier ever had yet we're no nearer winning the title because like Gerard, Rafa messes with the starting line up too much and tries to fit square pegs in round holes. His priority is Europe. End of.
His tactics are to keep it tight first half by playing Gerrard deeper than his central midfield partner, hope we go in nil-nil, then push Gerrard on in the second and hope we snatch something in the last fifteen minutes. How often have we gone on to win with Rafa when we've gone a goal behind?
The argument that it's all the owner's fault is becoming tedious aswell.
Rafa started the tit-for-tat nonesense in the press. They've never said they were here to to throw money away on signings. Remember Gillett waving the dollars jokingly then stressing it wasn't just about big money signings, it was about nurturing young talent. Well Rafa has been on a mission to snap up everything under 20 years of age that can kick a ball and can anyone say hand on heart that there's any sign of even one of them breaking into the first team?
If we haven't got bucket loads of cash then we need a manager who can spot young talent and nurture it.
Up until now, I been sticking to the same viewpoint. Rafa should be given until the end of the season. If he's no nearer to the top than last season, he has to go. I don't want the European Cup year on year. I want the Premiership. But I think Rafa has reached a tipping point. He can't even get his players to show a bit of hunger and desire. You'd think after all the shenanigans with the nasty Americans they could at least do that for their boss.
I think it's time for him to go.
But you have to ask yourself why he's not playing Babel.
He's lazy and plays **** when plays from the start, he ****s around with the ball far too much instead of playing a simple pass. To be fair on the lad, he's a lot better when he comes off the bench which is worrying.
Rafa's like us, he's not stupid. He's obviously noticed this by watching him train day in day out.
Kuyt works his nads off. He runs down the flanks, gets down the wing and supports other players. Even though his goal ratio is poor he's a team player. Something that Babel isn't.
Until he learns how to do this he'll keep being excluded from the team. He's not playing to Rafa's way of thinking, as simple as. I'm not saying he's a bad player. I rate Ryan Babel very highly, but if he doesn't change his mentality he'll be another player who's shipped out.
It's Rafa's way or the highway.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

I'm not suggesting that he would win me, you or anyone else on this site over but if he came in and we won the title he would win quite a few over.Originally posted by tomasjj View PostI don't think you can speak for me on that one, sheik.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

My post from the other thread:
The replies from Jesus:Originally posted by sonsofthedesert View PostThe thing is though, say he did become manager (god forbid) and he won the league, everyone would be celebrating the league but would not love him, he would get a level of respect but could you think of him in the same way as Rafa or any of our greats? I know I couldn't.
