Aye fella all good points. Wasn't necessarily suggesting they should do it this way just pointing out the possibilities

Bottom line is this is the only confirmed attempt (Early days and all that) to takeover the club. What's more it offers an eminently more secure financial future (in theory).

For those reasons (to mis-quote one of those ****s on Dragon's Den), I'm in

I think I'd like to make you an offer... but for my £5,000 I want 40% of the company and all of it's future products

These are my concerns too. I would have thought it would be much more realistic to have created shares at ~£1K and say you could own a maximum of 5 rather than have one share of £5k.

It's something I'd like to get involved in if it could be made possible but I can't afford £5k at the moment and having part of a share with people I don't know well isn't too appealing
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I would still love it to happen though.

If you did it through here, you could open a thread for your group and everyone would write a name. See how many you get. Makes it all very public though but you wouldn't be doing it often.

The thing that doesn't work is the website, anyone know why shareliverpoolfc.co.uk can't be connected to?

                  Too much traffic

The account has been suspended again, must be due to the ammount of traffic going to it.

There must be a lot more interest than they initially thought there was going to be for this idea
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

Can anyone see an issue around the first 20000 to be prioritised for tickets? How would this be fair on current season ticket holders who can't afford 5K?

Sorry, who is it exactly that is against this? Or pro Hicks? Always this invisible opposition to these posturings. I wish everyone would stop leaping over one another to let everyone know how much they dislike Hicks.

It is hardly surprising that people who don't think G&H are that bad think that another high risk gamble is not the answer. No top team in the modern era has had a fans takeover and there is no history of community owned clubs in England. It would be a huge gamble to move to this model.

For me G&H are probably a bad thing in the long term. However I think they are not the devil and in teh short term their plan is not so evil. Any alternative has to have it's financing already set up before it will get my backing. This plan patently does not meet this basic criteria.

If someone starts the ball really rolling then I would be willing to reassess it.

i thought the same thing - my dad has had a season ticket for over 30 yrs and one in my mum's name for about 15 that he pays for every year - i doubt he would put £5k - they can't just turn round to people and **** 'em off.

tbh i don't see how this will work

If shareliverpool did manage to raise the £500m won't this just emphasise to Hicks (and Gilette) just how valuable a commodity he has bought into?

I'm struggling to understand how Hicks will be persuaded to sell up when faced with an offer from this (or any group for that matter). It's all very well suggesting a boycott of the games, but that isn't really where the money is. It might be in the corporate seats (who surely won't boycott) but is definitely in the tv money. TV audiences would certainly go up!

There will obviously be a figure at which he will sell cos everyone has a price, but if we raise £500m it will be higher than that.

I agree if you don't try you won't know but I have a nagging doubt about it.

I assumed (rightly or wrongly) that it would be something like the priority ticket scheme opposed to season tickets
