Incidentally, although I do not know whether there is an option period attached to the sale of Gillette's shares that can expire, I do know that it is not legally possible for DIC to dilute Hicks' holding unless either he agrees - which I don't think he would - or there is already an agreement in place allowing the holder of Gillette's shares to in effect dilute Hicks' shares - and I would be very surprised if such an agreement exists. Therefore, Ballague is talking rubbish. Having established that, how much credibility does the est have.

    Sorry guys.
They can dilute his shares if there's board approval. It'll be 4 vs. 2 (Moores and Parry will definitely be on their side).

I do not believe for one second that Balague would hint at who Rafa's true targets are. He never called the Torres move before he joined us, in fact I remember him saying that if Torres moves to England he will end up at Chelsea or Utd.

Balague has a good relationship with Rafa based on a good degree of trust, and you saw with Pako Ayestran what happens when you betray Rafa. There is no doubt in my mind Balague is the king of CHEESE CHEESE CHEESE to the benefit of Rafa and Liverpool.

I seem to remember him hinting at it last May around the time of the CL final!! He did say that Rafa liked him but had some doubts about him.

He talked about Torres moving to England a lot of times in Revista even during an interview with El Nino.

Barry and Bentley are proven players in the EPL and we are all screaming for rafa to hurry up and get us number 19 and if those 2 do arrive at LFC I dont know what the problem is. Perhaps Rafa has decided he needs players who can hit the ground running and slot straight into the starting 11 rather than foreigners who have to adjust-Torres is a freak in that respect -and some fans moaned about his lack of goal scoring prowess in la liga.

Rafa also cant plan to spend big $ because DIC havent bought into the club yet so he has to prepare with the current ownership situation in mind. It seems that the powers that be are on board with his transfer strategy and if DIC do come on board then maybe things get even better.

The most important thing is that Rafa gets his first choice targets so I trust him to do the right thing. He mostly gets it right.

Pennant wasnt MOM there, Masher was.

JP ran at AC, causing them problems, but his delivery was appaling & effectively neutralised what he was doing well.

As has been said, if he is so good, why is Rafa playing Dirky out of position on the right. JP was never gonna be any more than a sqaddie when we bought him & that's been proved right. Same with Yossi (who I prefer) too. We need much much better than that to challenge- we need players like Torres & SG who can win games with moments of genius. We only have 2 of those- we need 2-3 more because that is the number the teams that are setting the benchmark have.

FFS - the reason why benitez loves harry kewell is that he gives 15 assists and 15 goals a season when he stays fit and plays.

All wingers have to be a goal threat otherwise its very easy for the opposition to neutralise you. If only 2 players in your team are going to score then the teams marks them out.

This is why pennant isnt good enough at the highest level, he doesnt give 15 assists and he certainly doesnt score 10 goals, not even close. He is the winger with the most crosses in the league but only has approx 7 assists. Why is that ?

It could be that we are genuinely **** and cannot convert his chances or that more likely his crosses go nowhere.

                    More likely the latter.

Balague has got too big for his own boots. More a of a Sky celebrity now rather than a normal journo. Talks crap half the time anyway

Benni is used as a squad player, but capable of a lot more.

Incidentally I think he’d be a perfect replacement for Helb at Arsenal. I think he’d flourish in Arsenal’s system.

Hopefully we’ll see more of him next year.

He's had the touch of a rapist recently, so something would have to change. Maybe it's a lack of games.

Wasn’t at his best last week, but some of his one touch football and movement against Blackburn was very Arsenal like.
