If it comes to style vs substance I'd rather play dull football and win stuff than attractive football and win nothing.

We need to start winning and worry about how we win after!
How about playing great football and winning stuff like United do? There are games where they struggle but that's not through caution but through the oppositions tactics. Our intent is always "not to lose".

Arsenal played the most attractive football in Europe last year - neither did we? Plus they finished above us after spending **** all (again).

I don't think we play bad football at all ! We've never been a spectacular team. Our only real great attacking team was the one of 1987/88. We've always been a cagey passing team and I don't see any difference in the way Rafa sets ourselves up. We pass the ball well but we tend to mix it up. We have 'other options'.

Now with the selling of Crouch, I expect us to pass it more.

So who in the 70's of English teams played like Brazil then? Nobody. Whatever era we played, we played good football for that era. I don't remember continental teams of the 80's "out passing" us.

Under Rafa we don't pass it well, or move much. It's ale house.

There's nothing wrong with our style of play.

United's may be better but they can spend over £20mil on a single aquisition once or twice a year, we can't. Arsenal don't spend much and play lovely tippy tappy football but have won **** all in the time we have been Euro Champions, FA Cup Winners and generally an awesome team in the CL while matching them with our league positions.

You're just a moaner. If it wasn't this it'd be something else and you'll always be the same. That's the truth of the matter and I feel sorry for you that you can't just enjoy watching and supporting Liverpool.

Until now though, to be fair we have been spending a lot lately although some of the credit for that must go to Rafa, he has bought players and sold the for minimal loss or even profits. And his big buys have been spot on so far, he needs another season or two like this and we'll have a pretty complete team.
              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Nice football does win you games but also costs you goals.
How many times have arsenal tried that extra pass.

Utd really arent a pleasure to watch either. Ronaldo is by himself thats it.
Prefer to win 1-0 than draw 1-1 and play beautiful football.

Not net no, but it was more than Manchester United did and people say they spent **** loads last year.

                        Benayoun £5m
                        Babel £11.5m
                        Torres £20m
                        Mascherano £17m
                        Leto £1.8m
                        Insua £1.3m
                        Itandje £2m
                        Skrtel £6.5m
                        Lucas £6m

I work that lot out at £71.1m, we sold Garcia, Cisse, Bellamy, Gonzalez, Palleta, Sissoko for a combined £30m. (NET £41m)

Fregie has bought Anderson, Nani, Hargreaves and Kszciak for about £51m plus a £6m loan fee for Carlos Tevez.

They also sold Heinze, Smith, Rossi and Richardson for about £25m.

So let me get this straight we spent £71m on 9 players 6 of whom are first tea pmlayers and Utd spent £51m on youth players that they admitted were brought into first team action at least a season too early, a bench warming goal keeper and one first team player. There is the financial gap between us and them. Its great to see you supporting the problems Rafa has to confront Rashid.

I'd say only Torres and Mascherano are guaranteed first teamers with Babel at a push.

So, they aded about £30m net onto a team that had already won the league then. What's your point?
                              3rd place. Worst champions ever.

You not one of the ones who want Maureen in charge? His teams played some of the worse football out there. Thats without needing to tell his team to cheat and dive at every possible moment or without having to pay refs off.
