I didn't think we needed full backs this summer, I was saying all summer than that Arbeloa and Finnan, and Aurelio and Insua can cover for us this year. I said we should buy two wingers and just leave it at that. You saw today what a decent winger can bring to the team, you saw today that when the team is positive how good the full backs can look - just imagine if we had a proper winger on the right too?

We won today because we had options out wide and the full backs attacked whenever they could - it was superb.

The fact that Aurelio throughout his carreer has struggled with injury meant he would possibly only manage 30 games in the season leaving an inexperienced Insua at LB. Madness. Buying Dossenna after selling JAR was essential IMO.

Excellent performance. In the past everyone would wait for either Torres or Gerrard to do something. I think everyone put there hand up today and put on a good performance. Loved Kuyt. He's going to be a handful for the opposition this year.

Simple post but i agree with every bit of it. Rafa will take a lot of positives from this game as will the players.

think he has managed an average of 18, Dossena will settle soon enough
