I think the main issue is that the overly negative posts appear to be agenda driven (ie - those posters ultimately want Rafa sacked). These extreme opinions don't sit well with the majority of fans - isn't supporting a football team supposed to be about enjoyment? Where is the enjoyment in reading repeated negativity? Whereas the overly positive posts may also be movitivated by an agenda, it is generaly more palatable for the majority of sensible/normal posters to read these posts as is fits better with the idea of 'supporting' a team.

I find it easier to understand the 'blind faith' side of football supporters. Its Human nature to paper over the cracks when it comes to something you love - we've all seen the Mothers who believe their 'little angels' can do no wrong when in actual fact they are seen as horrible little brats in everyone elses eyes. I'm not saying this is right or acceptable, just easier to understand.

This place would be boring if everyone shared the same view but it will also become just as boring if the majority of threads descend into the same repeitive arguments we have seen lately. I welcome this move for greater respect amongst posters and hope that in addition, more consideration will be put into posts so that they don't encourage these same tired debates.

I do think that the emphasis on negativity from yesterday has been more than 25% so in this respect, i agree with you.
May i just say that.. although not always agreeing with your posts, i do think that you put your point across in a succinct manner, and it's this reason that although as i say i may not always agree with it...it doesn't have the effect of winding me up as others tend to.

That's the crux of it for me.

How offensive. If I could I would put him on ignore the two dimensional freak.

I can see what your saying although I think with some justification the 'negative posters' you refer to will object to the idea that having an agenda is different to having a consistent set of beliefs on that matter. There is certainly some truth to the idea that certain arguments have been allowed to take over too many threads but I think part fo this has come from over defensiveness and the desire to have purely positive threads which has stifled proper discussion.

So would people welcome a harsher division of thread topics?

Me too.I can accept posts about Rafa's failings from certain posters as long as those same people are forthcoming with their praise when he gets it right.

The thing I found laughable was that Rage went offline instead of staying on here to enjoy the result with fellow reds. You can bet your life if we'd lost he wouldn't have gone anywhere and would have been is his full negative flow.

If you really are a supporter why can't you enjoy a result instead of picking holes in it.Being a "supporter" is supposed to bring joy not depression.

Wait a bit. We might lose a game one day.

Certain posters can't wait for the day IMO.

To be fair to rage he posted in this thread on the first page at 5.18 which is hardly running and hiding from the post match discussion. He also gave a reasoned, if biased, account of his thoughts on the game. He obviously celebrated the result.

Yeah but he certainly wasn't posting anything like as prolifically as he would have been had we lost and he knows it.Not just Rage either,Rashid nor Sarb where about much either although Rashid did give some credit where it was due.Its a sad state of affairs if a back from the dead result gives you less desire to talk about your team than a defeat would've.

We all know their views and of course they're welcome to them but it gets really tiring to see it come up time and again. They don't need to repeat their issues,we know them quite clearly.

                              couple of quick points.

                              1. Look at how many wanted fergie sacked in the years before he started winning - it takes time !!

                              2. there is talk of six point games but the real six pointer is who wins the league next - us or united - at the moment we look the better bet .

                              3. humour me here , For all those that want rafa sacked - who would you replace him with?

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."
