Rage first I apologise for last night and the use of the word muppet, it was meant as a dig more than an insult and I'd had a few drinks. All I read from your post was "I still want Rafa sacked" and it was like a red flag to a bull. I know you are like the rest of us, frustrated, 19 years is a long time and I have also been following the reds since I was a youg kid, first game at anfield was in '82. My problem with you is you just focus on Rafa's negatives and never the positives. No liverpool manager has ever been perfect and Rafa is no different. You looked at being 2 nil down and said ffs we won't come back from that every week, I seen 2 nil down and though waht a comeback and great character. Even the great united teams under Ferguson have founfd themselves in similar positions before and have comeback and won. In fact most of united titles have been built on their resolve and ability to win a game late on. That is what we have shown so far this season. A winning habit, guts and determination and a team spirit I have not seen in 2 decades from any liverpool team. You focus on the negatives, I will focus on the positves and lets debate them in an adult manner. I promise I won't cross the line again.Originally posted by rage View Postmy opinion is based upon 4 seasons and not a single title challenge. until i see rafa mount a title challenge my opinion of rafa, whether the majority of posters disagree with me, is a valid opinion.
i have been watching liverpool since the 70s and i know plenty about watching a title winning team.
this season we are getting the results but on too many occasions we have had to come back from behind. every time we have done this the negating the opposition tactics have been put to one side and we have played in an aggressive and free manner. this proves to me that rafa's initial strategy has failed.
do people really think week in week out we'll come back from 2 nil down?
i give credit where it is deserved. i would rather not have been 2 nil down on sunday and i was made up for kuyt for instance when he scored - however, against teams like city i do not think he merits a starting place where i think a more forward focused right sided midfielder would have been a better choice. i was wrong with riera he is not the same player that played at city a few seasons ago BUT i cannot work out why we would spend a record amount of money on an overweight fullback.
i would love to be proven wrong and for rafa to win the title, being wrong about our manager pales into insignificance to winning the title.
some posters need to get a grip with the personal insults. i'm sure there would be an uproar if i responded in a similar manner.
Dare we believe

Absolutely top post mate.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.

Rafa is building momentum and until that stops or starts to reverse then I think we should back him
That should be the end of it. Well said and you echo the VAST, VAST majority of Liverpool supporters, IMO.Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

I've been a critic of certain posters in the past, as have many many people on this site. Whilst I think this speaks volumes, I also think that a certain amount of pragmatism needs to be practised by all
I dont think anybody wants a site whereby any view that dares to criticise the team or the manager is forbidden, but by the same degree those with such an opinion should also recognise when, where and HOW is acceptable to share said opinionI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

If there's one thing I dislike more than petty arguments on internet forums, it's when posters spend more time writing about how the forum is being ruined by petty arguments than about anything else. If people ignore the cocks and stick to football the problems will magically disappear. Why the **** are people bickering when we won the game? We're 2nd on goal difference have had a great start to the season yet the same old same old gets trotted out on nearly every single thread.
By now I think people get the jist we mainly have 2 camps - a RCDNW camp and a RCDNR camp with a few other posters splattered in between.
We get it, so why can't we all move on without having to go round in ****ing circles repeating the same old ****e day in day out. This website was fantastic when it first started yet this place has turned into a zoo over the past year. Every single day we have the same posters saying the same old guff (I admit I'm one of them). For the good of the site I think we should all chill the **** out remember we all support LFC and respect other peoples opinions even if we don't agree with them. On the flip side I think the posters (and they know who they are) who post in a certain way simply court controversy should grow up and acted their age.**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.

See I'm not entirely sure we do. I suspect that most people are somewhere in the middle but get forced to one extreme or the other by the reactions of others. I also think that some people have a tendency to reply to the poster and not the post. It would be nice if we could settle down to debating sensibly and hear some more nuanced views.Originally posted by Pacman View PostWhy the **** are people bickering when we won the game? I mean we've had a great start to the season yet we are still going round in circles about Rafa. I mean one person even said he wants him sacked
This place really has turned into a Zoo mate and it needs to be sorted out otherwise it will only get worse.

I honestly think that you are over emphasising the posts of a couple of posters and even then a lot of them have come in with moderated views in this thread. The thing is that while we are being successful at the minute it is early in the season and realistically if people think there are fundamental failings in Rafa's approach then there hasn't been nearly enough games this campaign to change their minds.
Is there any problem in discussing the flaws in the City performance or even the performances over the season? I think we have rarely really shone this season the United, Everton and second half against City have been the exception rather than the rule. However we have shown a lot of positives.
The RCDNW group in my opinion is a particular myth. Most of the people labelled as such are usually reacting to extreme posts from the few posters who have fundamental problems with Rafa. IMO they often allow their opinions to become falsely polarised in these debates and then the arguments get heated and less interesting."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Fairplay for just coming out and stating the obvious.
EDIT: I feel I should qualify my post a bit. In the simplest form I suggest everyone waits till we lose our first game of the season and see how we all react to that, especially 24 hours after.Last edited by Skillz; 07-10-08, 01:55 PM.Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Then why do we go round in circles every single day? I don't think there is a day that goes by on this site where there isn't someone having a pop at a player or the manager and then someone defending them. It also seems to be the same people having a go and the same people having a go back it's getting tiresome.Originally posted by dww View PostI honestly think that you are over emphasising the posts of a couple of posters and even then a lot of them have come in with moderated views in this thread. It usually ends up in a slagging match which turns the thread to bollocks.**** OFF HICKS AND GILLETT WE DON'T WANT YOU.
