We all believe we should be turning over teams like Hull, Fulham, West Ham etc, but you must understand not all of us think it is our divine right to win these games. What is so hard to understand about that?
its not about a divine right, its more to do with recognising we've ****ed up and putting in place strategies to make sure it doesn't happen again. as opposed to finding excuses for why it happened and failing to deal with it.
This is an absolute joke of a thread. Really disappoints me when supporters are near on abused or shot down for having the gall to suggest that we should not take for granted that we will win every game against the so called smaller teams.
Arrogance is not a word I associate with Liverpool FC - if anything we have a humbleness and humility which is borne out of the general respect, yes respect, we show opponents in victory and defeat. FFS.
Unbelievable. Really.

The thing is barometers change from season to season. Arsenal won the league without losing a game a few years ago. That doesn't mean that whoever wants to win it in the future has to do so. So we don't necessarily have to match the home record of previous league winners. We just have to better what our title contenders do this season.

i actually dont worry about what most people think and look on it as my chance to educate you toward the level i am at mate
i could say bollix cock custard etc but refrain from doing so
we are all in agreement we want the title its just that you and others want to convince some that we should "respect" lesser and quite clearly lesser teams
i disagree

My initial point is that this season so far has shown that the top teams are more likely to loose points home and away than in previous seasons. While there may well be a correlation with winning at home and winning the league there is also likely to be one between beating your immediate rivals and winning the league. Why focus on the former where we are doing badly rather than the latter where we are doing well.
We have to keep up our performance relative to the other top teams to win the league. That will probably mean getting better at home - not sure anyone is disputing that.
I talk about respecting the weaker teams before the games win or loose. I think it depends on what one means by respect really as to whether there is any point in this thread at all. We should acknowledge when other teams play well and accept that sometimes we will not win because of their over performance and not our poor performance. There is very little, possibly no, evidence that we should be achieving consistent many goals to nil victories which is what some people seem to expect. yes we should have an expectation of beating weaker teams more often but that doesn't seem to be antithetical to having respect for them to me.
I just think people are getting on their high horses trying to make out that their views are superior to others as they dislike a turn of phrase others used and want to be seen as somehow 'better' supporters. I think the whole discussion in those terms is tiresome and largely held for the purposes of self aggrandizement.
