What makes me think that we are just starting to see the true form of Lucas is the comments made by Rafa himself along with other members of the coaching staff. Whenever they discuss their philosophy on players they mention Lucas and his mentality along with ability. They seem to like him a lot.

**** do they know about player ability and potential. Anfieldanfield has spoken. Lucas will never make it.Originally posted by gerbin11 View PostWhat makes me think that we are just starting to see the true form of Lucas is the comments made by Rafa himself along with other members of the coaching staff. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

they keep playing n'gog and honestly the more i see him the less i think of him.Originally posted by Scratch View PostHowever, the fact they keep playing him does.
lucas is clearly getting better, i'd just have a lot more confidence in him when he puts in a performance like newcastle against a better team. but having said that earlier on in the season i didn't think he could put in a performance like he did against anyone in the premier league.

But I have, Lucas has shown some great qualities as a developing player, It's clear to me that we have a very promising talent being nurtured by Rafa.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostYou're laughing as if you've got the most solid, valid point ever.
It's Lucas he's talking about, not Gerrard. He's had two good games, prior to which he's been fairly mediocre and looked out of his depth.
Your superfan act doesnt change that.
Rafa has shown faith in him, why ? because he's average ?
He has shown on the pitch recently that his talent has begun to shine, I can see him becoming a real classy midfielder.
That ball through to Gerrard...average ? No mate that was class.
The last youngster that impressed so well was Steven Gerrard, I think Lucas is going to be up there with the best.
And if a Superfan act means supporting our up and coming players then so be it.

People who say Lucas is not good enough and a **** player dont really know football imo.He is still very young, has good technique, a good passing range, and is good going forward aswel as being good definsively.
Ive never seen him have a terrible game and the criticism he has got has been unjustified. He has hardly had a run in the team to get his confidence and has been put in every now then and even then he has played ok.He is already a good player and has a lot of years ahead of him to get even better.

You don't win brazilian footballer of the year if your ****. Simple as. He clearly has talent and it's obvious he is taking time to adapt to the english game. Lets not forget he is young, learning the language and culture, living a 12 hour transatlantic flight away from family and friends and adapting to the physicality and pace of the toughest league in the world. The lad deserves our patience and support. It's a friggin disgrace reading comments like "****" "talentless" and "never make it" from so called supporters. IMO he will prove every last one of you wrong.Dare we believe

was just reading his profile on .tv
he is only 5'8'' thats pretty small and 11 stone or something like that. its no wonder he gets described as lightweight."Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

What is nice is that the lad has character unlike some of footballs previous next bright spark. Le Tallec was in the same position but lacked the character. He wanted to play every game instead of waiting in line. Pongolle waited and he's now at Atletico doing well.
Young footballers need to be patient with certain managers. They will get their chance when they are deemed ready. Lucas has shown that he is a very patient individual and for that reason I suspect he WILL make it at Anfield. Babel on the other hand.........
No doubt about who has the most individual talent but one is in a hurry to play, whilst the other will wait and in his later years will thank Rafa as his body is not wrecked from over playing as a youngster.Forwards.......

to summarise, to you honestly see lucas getting a game in man utd's midfield ahead of hargreaves, carrick, scholes or in chelsea ahaed of lampard, ballack, deco or even ahead of fabregas or denilson at the arsenal? of course not. he's not aywhere neard gerard, masher or alonso level and wouldn't get a sniff at any of the other big four. my opinion of him will not change.....he should not be getting a game for our first 11.Originally posted by JermainePennant View PostPeople who say Lucas is not good enough and a **** player dont really know football imo.people who say he is class or that he is good enough to wear our colours don't really know football IMO
He is still very young, has good technique, a good passing range, and is good going forward aswel as being good definsively.he has only once in x amount of games for us shown good passing range ( the ball for stevie against newcastle ) as for being good going forward and in defense
you must be basing that on youtube videos cause he certainly hasn't shown it for lfc yet
Ive never seen him have a terrible gamethen you have obvioulsy never watched him play for lfc. if you seriously beleive he has never had a bad game for us you are either taking the piss or know sweet FA about football
and the criticism he has got has been unjustified.the criticism he has got has been well justified. for the price we paid he should be able to compete at a top level, he clearly hasn't.
