True - it doesn't. Can't think of any professional footballer who has managed to string 5/6 good cameos together and got a first team place though.

Does it have to be a 'must win match' for us to try to win it?

That was a ****e result and performance, and gives us hardly any margin for error in our home games.

Maybe not 5 or 6 consecutively then, but you saw my point so meet me in the middle.

I thought it was a stupid comment, we have far more "class" as you put it in our team than them, but tonight we started in first gear again and got punished. See Marseille, Besiktas and others, its not because all have more "class" than us.

we will gub no one if we continue to play like in the first half.

                johnson was shocking!
As was rafa's decision to play aurelio with lucas at central mid. no agression, absolutely no physique.

it looked to me like rafa tried to have us play like in the league - attacking.
it backfired splendidly as we were taken apart in the first half and looked like we had never played together before.
                shocking

No, but at 2-0 down a half time and Chavski in the league this weekend, it's hard to get the players to bust a gut for you in a game which is not a must win.

Yeah but lots of things are 'hard', winning the league is hard, doesnt mean we dismiss it though.

I dont personally think Rafa nor the players were thinking "this isnt must win, no need to bust a gut".

Thank goodness they didnt in Istanbul, eh?

Let's just hope there is a Sevilla lining.

imo we don't have enough classy players, enough skillful players, and enough of tactically aware players to win the competition(compared to the likes of barca, real, **** it even inter and bayern, not to mention the mancs and chavs,..)not just tonight's match! all those other results were from previous seasons and have absolutely no meaning this year.

Yeah but Istanbul was a "must win" game, there's no "next week" to think about when you're in the champions league final.

If Rafa prioritised the league match with Chavski whilst 2-0 down at half time, then that's fine with me
