Nope, I just want to win the cup, you already said you didn't care.

I'm not so sure we would have at all.

We may have turned them over with a weaker side at Anfield but we definitely needed to be at full strength last night.

Aye, at Anfield they had no desire to attack, but they created some good chances last nigh and I would not have been confident with a weakened team playing.

I understand the cautious mentality because we are s close to having our two superstars back but surly they will be mad for games too based on the injury problems they've had this season.

Torres needs to play meore often to earn his corn imo, if he continues with his injury problenms its better for us to sell.
Yes, every game is a risk, and that's why there's a sensible thing called minimising risks. Everytime you drive a car, you take a risk, but you dont drive at 100mph all day, for a reason - you minimise the risk.

Do you think winning the cup with lift morale at the club?

I think given that they scored first anyway, a less experienced team may have let the pressure get to them. Unirea have done well over the last couple of years and would probably be a top championship team or lower epl team if they were based in england.

As such I think a complete reserve side would have been a big risk.

                If we finish 4th, yes.

If we finish outside the top four, no two-bob cup will be good enough to mask the massive disaster.

I wasnt advocating a full reserve side.

                  .
Well i am sure you have seen our run in, even with injuries we should take fourth by a couple of points.

Would you also say that progressing in the UEFA cup will have a tangible effect on morale in League games and vice versa, not progressing

This "we've got to rest people so they dont get injured" stuff is laughable. There is absolutely no guarantee if we rested our whole team and went out to Lille we'd go on and get 4th. Its not 1 or the other.

We can do both. Do you think Man Utd will be resting people against Milan so they can secure the title? Will they ****.

Personally I'd rather be going into league games after confidence boosting wins in Europe ala the treble season, the players were playing non stop yet confidence took them through it. This club needs to become winners again, we are in no position to just be laughing away trophies as "tin pot".

Exactly, does anyone think that the Scum are going to rest Rooney on Sunday for the Carling Cup??

If we were to lose Torres and/or Gerrard, 4th place would be a major struggle.

Of course we can do both, who said otherwise?

There's an amount of risk everytime they step onto the pitch, so if they play less, the risk is less. That's all i've said, minimise the risk. It's playing percentages.

What part of that isnt true?

As for the mancs - they wont rest people for their Milan tie, probably because the CL is far more worthwhile, lucrative and offers more glory than the Europa League. You dispute that, do you?

Case in point, we play the Lille 2nd leg 3 days before we go to Old Trafford - you'd risk Torres and Gerrard for that then, and see no problem in taking the chance?

That's the same Rooney who very rarely gets long injury lay-offs. As opposed to our pair, who have hardly managed to play 10 games together this season.

I'm simply saying take less risks with Gerrard & Torres, in the games which arent top priority. Anyone would think i'm making some radical, unheard-of suggestion

I wonder how you lot would feel if Torres does his hamstring playing against Lille, three days before Old Trafford.

Why is it patronising? Any more patronising than your "Do you think Man Utd will be resting people against Milan so they can secure the title? Will they ****." comment? Nope.

It's a perfectly valid point, which you had the chance to answer, but chose to be abusive instead. One might be inclined to think that you saw the valid point i was making, and couldnt actually debate it.

Its all the little dittys you put, "You dispute that, do you?"

After what, must be nearly a decade of constant arguing on the internet you still have absolutely no idea how to talk to people. Do you not wonder why you get banned and given so much **** in return? Its because you treat people like dirt.

I have absolutely no interest at all in debating anything with you because it simply isnt possible, you have to have the last word, you have to patronise, its just pointless so in future just ignore everything I write like I was trying to do with you until shock horror you waded in.

You would not dare be this much of a cunt to peoples face, you would not dare. Anyway thats it, ive no interest in clogging up this thread with more ****, if you want to reply, pm me.
