Why do you think Liverpool fans, as a collective, are any better or worse than many other sets of fans? Like most big clubs, the majority of our fans are pretty decent folk, whilst we have smaller groups of dickheads, like pretty much any club with a sizeable fanbase.

It's very nice to go around thinking we dont have idiots following LFC, but anyone who went to Athens in 2007 will be able to tell you otherwise. In fact, pretty much anyone who's been to any Liverpool game.
Spot on. I was going to post something similar but didn't have my tin hat.

No – not at all - but thats the problem. I feel that the mistakes that say one, or two, or a larger group of people who have done that are associated with SOS, or at least say they are associated with SOS, has caused some irreparable damage.

I have always said – fair play to SOS, they are trying to do something but...........it doesn’t mean I support them, and it doesn’t mean i choose to just ignore what happens at our club. At the end of the day, and i feel very strongly about this – no one fan has the right to tell someone how they should support their club – I will support Liverpool Football Club in the way I see fit and it is influenced by how my dad brought me up too support Liverpool, and how his dad did before etc and the values and understanding of being a Liverpool fan that they have passed on.

For me, i have seen/heard too many comments along the lines off “if you don’t agree with SOS you obv aren’t a proper red” – and that is one of the things that has made me almost ‘rebel’ against their ideas. I don’t like being told how i should support my club.

No whilst i totally understand that these sort of comments don’t come ‘direct’ from SOS as such, there is certainly an element and almost arrogance that – if you sign up to sos, pay the tenner or whatever it is, wear a sos badge, and go Marching From A Pub You Were Going To Be In Anyway To A Match You Were Going To Anyway – automatically makes you a better fan than someone who doesn’t.

Another issue is the ‘speak for all fans’ – it’s a tough one – because whilst SOS can say “our actions don’t speak for all LFC fans” it doesn’t matter – what they do, and what they say – comes across as speaking for all LFC fans

_anyway, - non of that prob makes any sense – i have rambled on whilst talking to someone on the phone haha
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

You stated he would support them. I said that he would be able to have his own opinion regardless of what his family thought.

            Where are you going wrong?

So am I right in thinking that those people who do not support SOS are happy to just let this drama unfold, unchallenged? If I am missing a trick here someone please put me right because I just do not see it.
Not at all, I just think SOS are just as much of an embarrassment and their are ****ing thick.

I understand exactly where you are coming from and agree with most of what you say. I just honestly do not see the problem with what they are doing. If it makes them feel like Uber-fans, let them. FFS as far as I am concerened every Liverpool fan is entitled to think they are the greatest fan!!

Honestly..... I dont have a jar of glue... But it would have to involve lots of money or they wont even listen to you.

He would have, you dont need to have known him personally to know that.

Are you saying his family are liars?

Do you not know any of your families opinions on anything? I know pretty much every belief my grandad and dad have about football.

aye - thats fair enough - thats why we have the forum and thats why we debate - everyone is entitled to their own opinion- but apparantly because we allow posters to agree or disagree with SOS, it makes us anti SOS.

Is it safe to say that by and large we all agree with their intentions but disagree with the methods they use and some of their actions to date?

I thought so, proven by the fact you have no comeback to it.

Are you one of the ones who was arselicking Dunk till the very end while there was 100s on other sites who knew what a piece of scum he was for years? But were labelled "bitter" and "jealous" by his little footsoldiers.

This situation reminds me of that quite a bit.
