    Money money money

The difference is going to be time. Man U have the money to sign players who are ready to push for the league immediately. They can come in and play with players who have been there a long time. Look at 4 players who they have brought in over the last few years and the ones we have....

    Ferdinand 29.1 Million

    Carrick 18.6 Million

    Rooney 25 Million

    Saha 12.8 Million

    Sissoko 5 Million

    Gonzalez 3 Million

    Pennant 6.7 Million

    Kuit 9 Million

Our players may turn out to be as good but we cannot afford world class finished articles. Benitez needs the time afforded to Sir Alex of Ferguson

carrick is more effective than zenden though isnt he!!!

And they are pulling away from us in terms of money despite the fact they can blow 19 million on an average player

I've been trying to make this point for weeks. You win the prem by being loaded. It's a very straightforward equation

or by getting a coach who has the best chance of buyer 'good' players and making them into brilliant ones. thats what wenger does and thats what rafa is trying to do

Crucially Wenger has been given the time to do this. Chop and change doesn't bring you success. Liverpool as a club used to know that, some of the "fans" on here seem not to share the same cultural memory.

Then they should do some homework about the club they puport to support.

Why? Why is history important at all?

What has history got to do with chopping and changing, it's a different game to what it was back in the 60s 70s 80s. Also disagree that new supporters have to learn about the history, it's nice if they want to but they don't have to.

Wenger was only given time because he won the double in his first season.

i think its important that everyone pulls together. on the way home yeserday ii said that i wasnt interested this season anymore and that it was all over. this morning i remember cardiff, istanbull, cardiff again, olympiarcos, juve, chelsea semi final last year and CL.

At the end of the day we have a lot to be thankful for. Keep faith, only maybe arsenal have a better manager IMO

Wenger joined arsenal in September 1996. won the double 1998, not his first season

Sorry this is bollocks. Every fan that supports the club has a duty to learn and know the history of the club. You're supporting the club as an institution as much as a team. That means understanding its ethos and history.

Then you come out with the oxymoronic "what has history got to do with chopping and changing, it's a different game to what it was in the 60s, 70s and 80s" I'll let you work that one out.....
