With the season a month a away, If we don't start seeing players come in soon I will be worried, we're less than a month away from the start of the PL season and our European season only 10 days away, especially as we can't really afford a slow start.

I reckon we also need Joe cole and a decent left back to arrive in the next week if we are going to hang onto Torres. At the moment it's looking like a fire-sale. Just hope it's that Roy has been told he's got to sell before he can buy.

Oh, I remember when you were bitching and moaning under Rafa. Par for the course?

That was based on football matches and I wasn't happy about it. Would much rather we had been doing well.

Fair enough. Mine is based on seemingly baffling decisions being made relating to team matters, not for footballing reasons.

What baffling matters? Tell us these matters, and we'll see if there is any logic behind them, or if it is the end of the world and LFC is doomed.

This is my opinion. Do you need me to make out for yourself that LFC is not doomed?

I am not telling you not to back the manager, I'm telling you about my stance on the matter.

I'm asking you about your stance....you say there are baffling decisions in effect, i'm asking you to say what they are, so we can talk about them...i thought that's what the idea of these forums was?

My stance is based on the decisions the powers that be have made since the tail end of last season. It's been well documented on here.

The baffling decisions relates to the fact that Purslow is putting his nose in transfer related matters and signing players without consultation with the manager. Quotes have backed that up.

What quotes are these? The ones where Roy says i spoke to him, but CP is dealing with the negotiations? Or are there other quotes too? Or the Insua one, which was set in motion before Roy's appointment, quite possibly at the bequest of the player...last year of his contract and all that, so maybe he didn't want to stay?

If he can't assert his authority, even if the transfer was instigated before he arrived (Purslow stated that no players would be bought and sold before the arrival of a new manager), then his hands are tied concerning certain matters.

I also said that I think Roy lacks personality. My assumption wasn't based on unfounded rumours, just on what I read and the overall pattern of the statements he gives to the press. Someone who has personality, asserts his authority and this implies if he likes a player (he stated that he liked Insua both on his football qualities and as a human being), then he should use his influence to convince him to stay.

Ever thought that Insua wanted to go? Or that we weren't that keen on keeping him...he was entering the last year of his contract (I think), so £5 million is a pretty good fee. Like Roy said, don't believe everything you read.

Roy has a quiet, dignified approach to the media, never says more than he has too...Rafa was quiet also, but also quite barbed and sharp with some of the things he said, something Roy has never been accused of.

I'm not sure I agree but I suppose you're the expert on that.
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I never said that I was the expert. It seems that a lot of people think I am though, not sure why that is the case. My track record is appalling.

In all seriousness, do you think I sound like one?

                              Yeah?

Well, maybe you're right - there might be someone. However I seriously doubt any genuine Liverpool supporter wants that. So I guess your view is basically just a poorly-camouflaged attempt to smear people whose concerns you may not share but could still be sincerely held.

It's a shame but never mind.
