roy held brief talks, told him he wanted him probably then left purslow to negotiate . . . . . how is that not clear enough?
The Remy quotes say it all mate. He hasn't even heard of him! How's he supposed to recommend him to Purslow?

The Insua deal. Had nothing to do with him? WHY!!! When Hodgson was appointed he should have been informed of a possible deal in place and asked if he wanted that to go ahead or not. He was clearly not given this option.

Here's the proof of who is running the club, buying and selling GOD HELP US...

      http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...268016,00.html
Roy Hodgson is happy to see Liverpool linked with Joe Cole, but insists he has not held talks over a deal for the midfielder.

Cole is looking for a new club after being released by Chelsea and he has attracted interest from North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, bookmakers have suspended betting on which club Cole will join next season amid rumours the England international is bound for Anfield.

Reds boss Hodgson has not spoken to the 28-year-old recently and refused to expand on rumours he could become a Liverpool player.
      Quality

"I'm not a betting man so that doesn't actually play a big part that betting is suspended," Hodgson told Sky Sports News. "I don't even know enough about betting to know what that means.

"As far as I know, Joe Cole is still a player looking for a club.

"I know we've been connected with him, and it's good to know we're connected with players of that quality, but I don't have anything to report on the subject.

"I haven't had any discussions with him, but I had a brief chat a while back.

"If you want to know about transfer targets, and how things are progressing, you'll have to ask (managing director) Christian Purslow because he's the man looking after those discussions, not me."

Hodgson also revealed he met with Liverpool co-owner George Gillett prior to the club's opening pre-season friendly against Al-Hilal in Austria being postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

He added: "It was nice to meet him, of course. I don't know him very well, but it was nice to speak to him.

"It was good of him to come to the game. It's a pity that, I'm sure, like the rest of us he would have liked to have seen Liverpool play."

Clearly if we sign Remy it wont be Roys idea
"He's a player who was mentioned to me by the scouting department and a player the club were following before I came,"
"He's a player I know very little about. If I am going to be interested in a player I am going to have to watch him playing, study him and make judgments which I have not been able to."

we're using the same quotes for different arguements.

as said we'll have to disagree on this becasue as someone who doesnt see doom and gloom in everything, to me these quotes are plainly obvious that he has talked to the player but left the negotiations up to purlsow. you see it differently ( for whatever your reasons ) and are unlikely to change your ways.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

FFS. can you lot not see this as meaning he does not make deals . . . . no manager does. why is this so difficult for people to understand?!?!?!?!?

roy knows of the transfer targets - he admits this - but does not do the negotiating!!!!!

What about Remy? Did he talk to him too? I doubt it seeing as he admitted he had barely even ****ing heard of him!

FOR ALL - we havent bid for remy. roy was told of him by the scouting department so he does know about him. he has told purslow to negotiate and we havent.

how do you know roy never gave his okay to sell insua? no one knows what the talks held were about or the outcome.

I'll make this my last post on this as we're going round in circles here

It's widely reported we bid about £12m for Remy.

Roy was told so he knows about hiim? Seriously? **** me. Is he a transfer target Roy earmarked? Plainly NO.

I know Roy never gave his ok to sell Insua as he very clearly said in those quotes that the deal had nothing to do with him!

As you said we'll have to agree to disgaree, but I think the wool is being pulled over your eyes on this one if you think the Hodgson/Purslow relationship is an effective way to run a football club.

                    Purlsow is a CUNT.

look, roy has said that he hopes all lfc fans understand that most of the transfer stories in the media are just that - stories. he hopes that fans realise that half the players being mentioned are just rumours. he wants us to wait untill something official is released. i for one understand this and will wait untill concrete bids are made or recieved before commenting. i just wish others would follow suit before taking all media rumours as gospel.

I can't see your quote. Was it from the Official website or a club spokesperson? If not it has no more credence than the media reports.
