Well either that or i've said he is not a winger, far bloody from it and should be used as a striker? Had this conversation before where someone picked out a post i've said about Jovo being a ****e winger but then ignoring the ones were i said he should be used as a forward. Not writing him off all all just don't feel is he is a winger. bet you feel the same way as a majority of LFC fans do?

The football Roy has served up has been far worse than ANYTHING Rafa served upOriginally posted by danperkins View Post
I understand that the football we have played this season thus far has been garbage as have been the results, carrying on from last season in which these was also garbage. I don't like Roy's lack of urgency and certain team selections but he's the best we could have got. We cannot and will not attract a top manager to Liverpool F.C. until the embarrassment which is our off the field aituation is completely resolved.
.
Its been far more negative, lacked organisation and like last year its lacked passion & commitment
I thought roy was going to get the best out of an under performing squad
Dalglish should never have been overlooked for Hodgson
And its telling that Dalglish himself wanted to withdraw from the selection process to be considered as a candidate once he saw who his rivals were
Clearly he didnt have a huge amount of faith in themBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Jovanovic is ****ing cack as wellOriginally posted by Pablo1981 View PostNot really. Jovanovic was a Benitez signing and I still think he looks **** too.
I don't even 100% blame Roy for signing Poulsen, like Rafa, his hand was forced in the transfer market, he's had to budget buy, and that's tough to get right.
All of the other players you mentioned above, showed glimpses of real promises at some stage early on, the same just can't be said about Poulson. Or would you be brave enough to argue against that?
I dont need 6 months or 12 months to form an opinion on Jovanovic, Konchesky or Poulsen
All are VERY poor playersBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Jovanovic being free is understandable. He could do a job in the carling cup. Now if only we could play non-league opposition...Originally posted by Lecter View PostJovanovic is ****ing cack as well

Well Riera came from Espanyol, Dossena came from Napoli, and Aqua came from Juve. Poulsen played for a top Seville team, and also played for Juve (who Aqua is with), different pool of footballers?Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostNah Riera/Dossena/Aqua are from a different pool of footballers. Granted they didn't work out but Poulsen is a mid-table signing while those mentioned are a better calibre or at least had the potential to be.
Also danperkins, you say give the team time to adjust to Roy's style of management but what has his style of management actually achieved in the last 30 years. Have you seen his away record? Is he suddenly going to become a great manager because thats what we need at the moment.
I have seen his away record and its ****e, and he his managerial stature is not of one that suits what people consider good enough for LFC, and thats fair enough, I AGREE WITH THAT. But i also understand that as a club we are so ****ed up that 99% of decent managers wouldn't touch us with a barge pole, and rightly so.
Roy took Fulham from relegation in his first season, 7th in 2nd season and final of Europa League i his last season, he achieved so much with Fulham. He is a good manager, is he the right man for LFC, i'm not saying that but at the moment in our current situation if we are realistic he's the best we could possibly hope for.

I have to say I begin to worry about the suitability of Roy Hodgson. Hicks and Gillett don’t choose players and tactics. The manager does and, as well as a lack of quality in some players and a lack of conviction in others, I detect a general air of negativity. Fulham ‘sat’ deep. No Liverpool team should.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I really beg to differ there, there has been plenty of performances in Rafa's long reign that have been appalling and have left me gobsmacked. The lack of organization is exactly what i've been saying, takes time the change the team and get them playing the way he wants. Rafa style has been drilled into them and needs to be drilled out, our back line is having an epic nightmare coping with this transition.Originally posted by Lecter View PostThe football Roy has served up has been far worse than ANYTHING Rafa served up

It takes time to get the best out of a much changed under performing squad, Daglaish would have been my choice but i can understand why he wasn't chosen as he has been out of the game a long time and has a position at LFC already.
I don't think anyone has faith in the Liverpool F.C. boardroom mate. I've got to the stage where i don't go on to ownership threads or talk about the financial situation because im genuinely that disillusioned with the whole thing and i don' trust any of them and take everything they say with a massive pinch of salt.Last edited by danperkins; 29-09-10, 03:00 PM.

At the time of searching, we were being promised new owners by the start of the season too (or thereabouts). Do you think the board told the candidates in their interviews that this was not likely to happen? Why would 99% of managers not touch us?? Riera was a Spanish international on the left wing. Dossena was second choice left back for Italy and was highly recommended by Capello too. Aqualani was one of the hottest young talents in Italy that had opposition fans a little scared when he signed. Poulsen is passed his best and also was not a regular for Juve. He's just an average midfielder who can put in a few good challenges here and there.

He is not wrong, Roy needs to up his game and get the finger out, i am defending Roy to a point but ultimately he is the manager and as i said about Rafa on previous forums last year, he is the man responsible for getting the best out of the players under him and ultimately for the results of LFC, the buck stops with him as he is the manager, so that snippet is very correct at this time, up to Roy to change that, hopefully with some more time he will.Originally posted by Lecter View PostInteresting snippet from an Alan Green article

Why would you 'drill out' of players the best in a former manager's approach!? Any sensible coach would have built on anything positive from the previous regime, so as to avoid drastic changes.Originally posted by danperkins View PostRafa style has been drilled into them and needs to be drilled out, our back line is having an epic nightmare coping with this transition.
All of Hodgson's failings are of his own undoing. He's got the basis of half a decent team but he's making it play like a mid-table side. Are we winning?

Just more consistency - except consistently bad
I played semi-pro football as a young man organisation and positioning is ****ING EASY to get across
If someone is out of position you get off the bench and holler at the cunt to get back into position
Roy doesnt even do that
Then you have things like hardwork, commitment and pressing. We have seen non of that and that MUST come from instructions from the manager / coaching staff
If we arent doing it WHY?
If the players are under instructions to do it and arent then why isnt Hodgson addressing it again from the sidelines
We are literally surrendering possession and ground to the opposition - its ****ing madness
I have NEVER seen such a static manager when things are clearly not working on the pitch
Rafa never took months to get the defence at least some modicum of organisation
This is the WORST side I have seen in 33 years of watching LFC (BAR NONE)
Yes there have been individual performances as bad but nothing as consistantly lacking as this
We are short on so many levels its ****ing frightening
Whenever a team has come up short in the past its been for one reason or another. Evans teams lacked fight, Houlliers too negative, Rafas too rigid etc....
The team so far lacks EVERYTHING - no passion, no bite, no commitment, no shape, no organisation, no urgency, negative tactics in the EXTREME, poor overall tactical decisions
If we were seeing one of those fundamentals manifesting itself on the pitch I'd be tempering my view of Roy - but we aintBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Riera was only on the fringes of the Spain side mate before he joined LFC, think he played one game late in 2007 and then wasn't called on again until late 2008, he pushed on with Spain after that and has only 16 appearances for them and now is a goner.Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostAt the time of searching, we were being promised new owners by the start of the season too (or thereabouts). As for Dosenna, nobody could hardly get a youtube clip of Dosenna befor ehe joined LFC, people knew nothing about him, he had never been capped by Italy until after joining LFC, highly rated in italy so they say, but not rated anywhere else on the planet.
Aqualani for all the links to top clubs and Rafa saying if fit Aqua would have cost us 30 million sterling has only 11 caps for Italy and he's 26, since 2004 i think Aqua hasn't even manage to be fit for even half a season, he's been injury prone for 6 years now and i think in his whole club career, alot of it playing high up the pitch he has only 11 goals and 7 or 8 assists. Hottest young talent? I don't think so mate.
Poulsen was ****e for Juve but fantastic for Seville, we paid £19.4 million for Aqua for just "1" season including wages of £85,000 a week, we have paid a fraction of the Aqua cost for Poulsen who has offered more in about 7 or 8 games than Aqua did in his time at LFC.

This nonsense of surrendering possession and holding at the 18 yard box is madness and frankly its a double dose of insanity because we are crap in the air
We should be pressing teams and closing them down (working hard), not letting them play with it till they get to our penalty box. Even then we are standing off them and letting them put crosses in which is suicidal
This to me is the first building block needed
However Roy doesnt know how to do that hes admitted that himself to the guy who heckled him
If he doesnt know how to instill passion and commitment in the players he shouldnt be in the jobBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
