Exactly ..."what defines a better manager?" - er, a CV? Some of us actually looked at Hodgson's CV and it is indisputably ****.

Without wishing to be rude mate, that is a really ignorant comment and suggests a liitle bias. And I speak as someone who watches Fulham a lot. Difficult though it is for some to accept - and for most of us to believe bearing in mind the performance so far this season - he made Fulham attractive to watch when they were looking to win, and difficult to beat.

I agree that the performances so far are unacceptable and cannot be allowed to continue for long, but now that we have got rid of G & H I was hoping we would stop tearing ourselves in half...yet some people will not give Hodgson a chance and that adds pressure to what is already a very difficult situation. We don't like to make it easy for our team do we?

I'll be glad when he's gone it's ****ing depressing going into work at the minute and being ripped to pieces by the bitters that sit near me and my manc boss.

Is it not the case that Hodgson's stats/record at Fulham is inferior to that of Coleman? I'm pretty sure it is.

Hodgson did a good job at Fulham.

          At Fulham.

We would never have considered Coleman, or Allardyce, or McClaren, or - going further back - Burley....all one time flavour of month managers. That's all Hodgson was. 12 jobs in 15 years says all you need to know about his record and his **** CV. He can stick his 35 years experience up his arse.

And hodgsons tactics don't make it easy for the fans to support him. Sunday was a perfect example of how it has been from the start of season with him. No shape, no tactics and no idea how to change things.

In the space of three months we have gone from controlling games to being played off the park by Blackpool. A clean sheet used to be a formalility now it's an achievement, I can't remember the last time our goal difference was as bad as it is now. His post match comments are a joke, what game was he watching on Sunday to think that we played well. Every game we are 2nd to the ball and disorganised.

(shaggy not aimed at you, just the best fit in terms of posts!)

I get a lot of abuse from Chav and Manc fans for living in the past and on past glories and I do - as would they if they'd had the success that LFC have had over the years

That being said I also realise that perhaps we look back too much and in the case of Rafa I think thats the case - he's gone and he won't be back anytime soon, he really won't!

Remember the good times from him but we really need to try and concentrate on the future and what will happen rather than what was - terrible decision replacing Rafa with Roy but it happened, Rafa is happy at Inter and doing well, we've just got to hope and pray NESV realise that Rafa's replacement is nowhere near up to it and get someone in that can do us proud!

But too much was going on...battle lines were being drawn as we now know behind the scenes...mistrust was probably rife and a power struggle was ongoing....all because rbs needed their men in position...which they did, whether Rafa really understood all that..who knows..i doubt it, but signing players and winning trophies imo was the furthest thing from Purslow and Broughtons minds...which is fair enough, but Rafa as much as anyone is just a victim of circumstance...the circumstance that took place when H&G took over.
Good Post. Rafa made mistakes but the owners actions only exacerbated them. They put him in a position where the margin for error was zero. Add to that the injuries and the board room warfare.

I think he will be back sometime. Maybe not soon but sometime in the near future. He loves us, it is obvious. He gets us and to a certain extent, todays press conference highlights why we loved him - he is a streetfighter who will go to war with anyone to defend himself and the club.

I dont see Purslow lasting in the club for long. He is a hero for his role in ousting the owners but his lack of footballing nous will catch up. As it has been evidenced through his handling of the managerial change and transfers this summer. NESV also have a history of marginalizing the roles of senior players who are not "value for money".

If NESV are as big of a stattos as they claim themselves to be, they will realize soon that Rafa is as close they can get to guaranteed CL quarter finals almost every season. That is a lot of moolah. They will also realize soon for all the criticism Rafa gets, he is courted by the European elites whereas the press favorites are doing a merry go around between lower level CL clubs and the Championship. And no owner will want to say no to that kind of guaranteed income stream.

Perhaps, but I still don't see him being back for at least a season or two.

New start and a new slate is what I hope Rafa is given in terms of the board, whoever that is made up of - if they choose to try and bring him back brilliant!! If not then we move on and get behind the new guy - Rafa won't be forgotten he's just part of the history at the moment and until that changes thats the best way to look at him

Me neither. But I can see him win another European Cup with another club in the next 3 to 5 years. At that point, NESV would be foolish not to consider him.

I think he'll do it this year or next, given the proper backing Rafa is a great manager - why do you think Maureen was always quick to deride him!!

Coleman inherited a decent set of players and season by season they got weaker. He was clueless, as his subsequent record shows.

Hodgson took a while to get going at Fulham, but he then improved them as a team season by season. I have no idea whether he will succeed at Liverpool and the signs are not good, but we are damaging our own team by piling on the pressure so soon. Step back, rejoice in the departure of G&H, and give everyone a new chance.

It is impossible to rejoice when we have a clearly incompetent manager playing hideously outdated tactics and destroying our team with them. He has had long enough, there is no excuse for his performance, he has done worse than Souness with a far better squad. He is the worst manager we have had since Don Welsh.

Surely it's time for the kop to voice their disapproval.
