Amazingly I spent the majority of last night's footy discussions arguing that Roy is a totally inappropriate choice for our club. Somehow everyone else's fans seem to have this idea that he's the right man for the club. Much Rafa bashing as ever. I wasn't out with regular Geordies either, I was with clever ones who can spell and count. Amazing
If I didn't laugh then I would cry.

People laugh at Newcastle for sacking manager after manager. We keep one that is telling the players that they are **** and not good enough. A manager that tells us fans to shut up because we are idiots that don't know what we are talking about. A manager that considers himself to be some kind of god that can make no mistake ever.

We are as big laughing stock as Newcastle. That thanks to Roy and NESV that don't sack him.

NESV hasn't exactly showed any strength at all so far. They don't sack a manager that make the club look like it is run by a gang of comedians.

I agree that Hodgson needs to go and the sooner the better. I believe that he will be gone soon, I attribute no blame for our current situation to the new owners. I'm sure that a replacement manager is being sought, in the meantime NESV are waiting for the right moment to sack the senile old duffer.

Is the right moment one which also means we've lost as many points as possible?

I watched John Power's interview last night on LFCTV. John's of similar age and upbringing to myself and I found myself nodding and grinning with most of what he had to say. One comment he did make, when asked about the great Bill Shankly, almost brought tears to my eyes. He said that he always thought that Shankly was "qualified to speak on the fans' behalf"(sounds familiar?). Now take another look at the ****ing idiotic, useless, fat headed, deluded lump currently sitting in the great man's chair. It's enough to make you pack in watching the game altogether, isn't it?.
I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

This is an interesting one I wonder if he feels the same about the fans opinion given that now 80%+ of the fans think he's doing a crap job and want him out!
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No. It's when there is a viable alternative. I know we all think we could do a better job. Maybe there's something in the pipeline which we don't know about? I trust NESV to make the right decision at the right time. I don't know what's going on in the background, I would expect that we're closing in on an alternative manager and we just have to bide our time?

I think that we can completely rule out Rijkaard for example. If we wanted him then he would probably already been appointed IMO.

Either we are waiting on Rafa or we have someone lined up that will be available in the summer. That is the two only options IMO.

Moratti will never give him the power he want and Rafa is clever enough to know that.

Rafa sacked next week? Most probably after Moratti turned him down.

It would be hilarious if Rafa came back.

Obviously I love the guy and think he's a top manager, but even I would have concerns about it. Forums and the media would go into meltdown - again - and I think we could do without the divisions that it would bring.

In an ideal world though....**** yeah, bring him back and let him finish what he started

Maybe you should mail some bookies and ask after the odds that he will be our next manager.

I got 400-1 at Unibet two months ago. £10 on it.

He is most probably one of maybe three four possible candidates and to get that kind of odds on a realistic option is worth the gamble.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if he did come back, I just posted this in the NESV to make us competitive thread:

But there are also other issues, working with a director of football and having less control than he had before, also any dressing room issues with players (who reportedly wanted rid of him).

Obviously there is the thought that Rafa had plans and he could pick up where he left off in that regard, and he would obviously be a huge improvement on Roy, I just wonder where our expectations should be if he were to return, would people give him less time than they would a "new" man because he knows the squad and would this be fair.

I have a huge amount of respect for him, but I do wonder how certain things would work out if he were to return.

It is now or never when it comes down to Rafa. The longer time we wait the more changes he will have to make.

The squads is still built around Rafa's system. It will be less and less "his" squads.

Either we take him back now or we never take him back. It takes to long time change it to his way in two three years time.
