Perhaps Brendan's style will suit him, I though he did quite well when he played in the senior team this campaign, perhaps, a option coming off the bench. The only role he has impressed me, was last time out in the Pressing AM role, well at least thats what he seemed to be doing to me, to some effect. Reminded of the role Park did at the Unwashed

Yup, not sure if he's good enough to make it here but I'd like to see him get a bit of a chance. Cup games and the odd substitute appearance here and there.

He looked good when Rafa first used him in the league a couple of years ago. Has he stagnated or did we overhype him? Or both?

Yeah definitely.

Also he hasn't really been given many chances which can't have helped his development.

That loan deal to Atletico and then to Rayo last year was a weird one. Can't work that out and he only seemed to play a few times for Rayo.

Contract runs out in the summer too doesn't it?!

I think it is this summer, I hope he knuckles down and does show us the potential we all thought was there but I just can't see it, maybe the fact the younger players are getting chances now will give him the shot in the arm to show that he can do it and force his way in but I just can't see it.

To be fair, he has been working his bollocks off all year. His quality on the ball hasn't been as good as we were used to when he was younger but even for the reserves he has worked tirelessly when picked.

I’d be happy to save wages on Cole and Downing and let Pacheco take their place on the bench.

He is on the bottom of packing order so his playing opportunities with the first team will be very limited.

I agree. I think he was a talent, but he just hasnt kicked on and he has been passed by other players

He did - and he may have to learn, that while Down'er is here, there are to many high-earners in the first team for him to push off - and then take the resie-matches as ..

.. good matchtraining (which even Andy Caroll didn't get last season)
.. a recognintion from B. Rodgers, that DP can teach the others in the resie-team something of scoring/creating chances.

He will surely have a contract offer soon - and in 2-3 years have established him as a certain first-teamer.

That is wishful thinking with Pacheco IMO, he's playing reserves as at present that's his level and he's not kicked on like a Sterling, Suso, Robinson or Wisdom.

Needs a big move forwards for him to be offered a new deal I fear
