I think over the season there will be plenty of opportunities for players to get games. Having one fixed 11 in mind seems a mistake to me - United have often had different setups for big games and 'other' games in recent seasons for example.

The one issue I see at the minute is that if we start the season resting Suarez and Lucas then we lose key parts of any likely overall system without having anyone who seems a good like for like replacement to cover for them.

I Agree Dave, but Arsenal would give him first team football with no-one really in his way ( mainly because everyone is leaving ) but its not a natural fit for us......Although its not my money and I would love him to be part of our squad and obviously he would play a lot to.

I'm not sold on it at all. Lacks width, seems a bit restrictive and is missing Kuyt. Did Segura not also say our base formation is going to be 4231? We'll obviously not always play that, but with the right players, 4231 can easily change into 433 and 442. That 442 looks pretty rigid (although I only had a quick look on my phone as pic isn't availabe in work).


I honestly think Henderson will see more of the bench than first team football next year.

I agree about the possible lack of width, I think you could have easily have that as a 4-2-3-1 with Lucas and Adam being the 2 in midfield and Gerrard, Henderson and Suarez as the 3 attacking midfield players.

You could adapt that formation to give width down one side by having Henderson play wide and Gerrard and Suarez swapping over the left and central role.

Welcome to the Reds Mr Adam, glad to have you aboard.

Clearly a player wanted by kenny and that will do nicely for me. Picking him up in person was a class act. Bet the conversation on the drive over would have been pretty interesting!

Adam a signing much like downing imo, in so much as a signing to get the best out of the existing options at the club. The word fulcrum used far too much in recent conversations by myself as I try to convince some doubters of his relevance. Adam plays it out wide, Downing collects, advances, crosses, Andy Carroll barges through and nods it in the net. Its an option we've missed for ages and imo a sensible approach as they seek to maximise options to create chances.

Very happy to see the jonj going nowhere. Great talent, loads of potential and I believe come august we will have shed some midfield baggage and he'll see more game time from the bench.
