    He apparently has!!!

He dropped his wage demands from £8 million over 2 years to £8 million over 3 years! (if you believe the reports)

They don't then, well, he signed a contract and he's a professional.

      A farcical situation
This is all well and good until you keep the unhappy player at the club and he fails to perform in training and doesnt perform when hes given the chance on the pitch (which is likely to happen imo)

You then watch his value plummet further

I dont see the problem with this loan to be honest

IF its successful we get circa €11 million for him

IF it isnt successful we'll be faced with selling the player next summer and I'd bet the price would not be significantly different than if we kept him here and played him when hes unhappy

Hes apparently foregone his pay off according to the rumours this morning

#Aquilani It's happening very soon, possibly today. Loan deal for 1 million euro and option to buy at 10million euro.

Liverpool and player wanted a permanent transfer or at least a 'comproprieta' (part ownership) but Fiorentina don't want this.

Liverpool will not be paying any severance money and the player will earn significantly less than he gets here.

            This is really getting ridiculous.

They are playing us in the same way as Juve did last year.

There is no guarantee they will buy him outright next year and very likely we will be presented with the similar situation next summer once again.

Sell him fine but loan him absolutely not.

If he wants to leave his agent will need to do a better job instead constantly blabbing in the press and find him a club that wants to pay for his services.

If he's only going on loan why would he be due a pay off? Surely that only happens for a permanent deal?
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I voted loan by the way. Just to be contrary.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Because the deal is clearly 1 year loan with an option to buy at €X million at the end of the loan

So all severances, fees and wages will be worked out and agreed in advance so that in the event Fiorentina take the option to purchase there is no further hiccups

If it wasnt worked out in advance we wouldnt agree to the loan and neither would the player

Equally there is no guarantee that keeping an unhappy player here and playing him will increase his value

Its a calculated gamble imo and to be honest even if Fiorentina didnt take up the option we imo will probably be no worse off (in terms of potential fee)

The major problem we have is the player desperately wanting to go back to Italy

If that wasnt the case then I could see the sense in holding and selling in a years time

                              I vote we loan him to QPR;

39,000 Italian born residents in London so he should find some company.

                              Italian owner.

Pots of cash to pay his wages.

Chance to show whether he's up to performing in the prem.

                              Sorted.
