That's the thing, people talk about signing players for the english league and not for europe - what do we do with them next summer if we get into the CL then? Hide them in the broom cupboard?

Who knows? If we qualify then it'll probably mean the players have clicked and we're getting some good performances and results. With that in mind and it all being about the collective and not individuals we should only need one or two players to improve the team.

To be honest I can't see why the money we've spent should be any concern. After the last few years, why don't we just sit back and enjoy supporting Liverpool again? I'm loving every minute of Kenny being in charge.

I think we would get out of the group, then it depends on the draw. I think we would have a good chance against some of the more 'average' sides that make it through to that stage, but I think we wouldn't do so well against the better sides.

As a number of people said Rafa's record in Europe was fantastic and he never got the credit he deserved for that. Kenny doesn't really have much experience of managing in Europe and I think that the way he likes to play doesn't necessarily suit playing in Europe. For example alot of Rafa's success was due to 'professional', hard working, maybe even negative performances away from home against the big sides, I don't think that the current side and managerial set-up are suited to playing that way so I think that a big side with experience of playing in Europe would have put us out in the knock out stage.

That thought had crossed my mind too Craig about Rafa being less full-on with people he trusted.

I really miss the CL- no matter who you're playing there's the music, romance & glitz & it's a real break from the drudgery of Stoke away etc.

This club was made for Europe - the CL needs us, we really liven it up!

I think we would get through the group stages and then get found out probably in the away leg of the knockout stages. Bizzarely I also think the European stage is where Charlie could spring to life.

We'd have no chance in the CL at present and we would not get out the groups in my opinion.

I don't think it's necessary to have two complete different sides for the two different competitions. We need a CB in any case, for the CL we may need a DM and maybe an attacking player ie Hazard. How would have we done in this competition, difficult to say really. We are good enough to compete but we ain't in it.
