I keep feeling compelled to add to this thread, but realise that I would just be repeating myself. I think that the only racist here is Evra himself and he deserves to be punished for his behaviour. Accusing Suarez and the referee of racism is abhorrent. The people who think that using an inoffensive word to describe someone's colour or ethnicity is racist haven't got a ****ing clue. I'm not a racist, but Evra is making it hard to describe him simply as a little black man.

Amen, spot on, this is why I have been so angry at this case, highlights a huge amount of cultural ignorance and arrogance in one go, that and Evra is a CuntOriginally posted by TheElephantMan View PostI keep feeling compelled to add to this thread, but realise that I would just be repeating myself. Reading the Guardian for 40 years has not helped your punctuation. It is normal to has a space after a full stop before you start the new sentenceOriginally posted by serenejim View PostAs a Guardian reader of 40 years I can say unequivocally that I do not have a linp wrist.Given my age other parts may be slightly limp but definitely not my wrist. For the record the Guardian is the only wholly Independent national daily. It is owned by the Scott trust and not some millionaire **** with an axe to grind-i.e.every other paper and consequently is the most unbiased national daily of them all.You are shooting at the wrong target. Here endeth the lesson

Like what? What will warrant a 2-3 game ban as anything else that happend that day is normal stuff that goes on in any game up and down the land.Originally posted by truefan999 View PostI suspect Suarez will be found guilty of a lessor charge not relating to race.
He will get a 2 or 3 match ban suspended for 18 months-----------------------------------------------

Fulham manager Martin Jol has also revealed he would be shocked if the charges against Suarez were proved.
Jol worked with Suarez over an 18-month period during his time as Ajax manager and would be taken aback if the charges against the 24-year-old are found proved.
"If it is true, I certainly am [surprised]," the Dutchman said.
"At Ajax we had players from all over the world, with all the continents involved and he was good with them all.
"He was my captain and you can imagine I told him it was his job to make them feel comfortable. If it is true, I can't believe it."

Now does this sound like the views of a racist.

"As someone interested in our environment, I do care about social inequality. Whenever I can, I love being active part of organizations that promote solidarity projects. This is the case of the Catalan NGO "Tomando Conciencia", an organisation that focuses on education. During the World football Championship in South Africa, I had the pleasure to get in touch with them, as they were around filming a documentary about their last project. The documentary is called "From Streets to the Fields" and I also had the chance to give my contribution. It deals with the fight of the Richard Allen Foundation against racial discrimination. This fight is promoted ithrough sport practice. Football in this case. Football has got his special , that it has the tremendous power of joining people, without any skin, religion and social discrimination"
