Sam Wallace is one of the best football writers out there, no agendas, no smarmy cuntery, no little-englander xenophobic hand clapping. Just a 'say it how it is' journo.

Does anybody know if the verdict is meant for today?

I think they said "not before Tuesday" or something like that.

So Kenny is left hanging on not knowing whether Suarez can play v Wigan the day before the game or not, brilliant.

Suarez will play at Wigan regardless, if they find him guilty, we'll appeal and the appeal will delay the suspension.

Is it possible to appeal against this? (If he is found guilty)

I can only recall appeals against automatic bans not after charges which were brought and heard at a hearing.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Why wouldnt we have the right of appeal?

Is it the same as a suspension in which if we appeal and it fails more games get added on to Suarez' ban?

No, i dont think anyone would consider an appeal in a case as serious as this to be 'frivolous'.

It's only my opinion, i'm not on the FA panel But i cant see anyone seriously considering it to be frivolous in this kind of sensitive issue.

I don't know, I'm just saying I can't remember anyone having appealled after a personal hearing. I wondered if the personal hearing was considered the appeal in most cases? (i.e. charges often result in an automatic ban and a personal hearing is essentially to appeal against the automatic ban).

This case is obviously different in that there had to be an initial hearing, so I was just wondering what the appropriate disciplinary procedures are within the FA (for any level of charges). For example is the hearing within the FA as far as things go or can we appeal to the FA? Or would any appeal have to be to a higher body; UEFA, FIFA, the court of arbitration for sport...?

I just know nothing about the way these things work, and as far as I've seen no one has reported what the appropriate process would be.

I think Craig is right, I'd be shocked if whatever the outcome is means case closed no chance of challenging the decision.

Of course this is the FA so nothing would be that surprising

Given how long the FA are taking to study the cultural aspect of this its pretty much impossible for them to say an appeal on that basis would be frivolous.
