Essentially that S America's view of racism dates back to the slave trade and not immigration hence just not as explosive as in the Lawrence murder. Much more relaxed on the subject. Especially Uruguay who included (poor)black players in their squad at the first World Cup Finals, something unthinkable in the likes of Brazil at the time.
