I'd imagine they did this as Kenny showed the media a DVD with examples of other gestures that hadnt received a ban

Equally he showed footage of other teams surrounding the referees and not getting fined and warned about their future conduct

Perhaps they should just issue a list of mandatory charges and the relevant bans

Would cut out a lot of gried for them

IE Gestures to the crowd such as Suarez#s and Rooneys etc.. will resort in an automatic 1 match ban without the right of a hearing

Equally going back to the racist abuse anyone who does this in future should automatically receive a minimum 8 game ban

That makes logical sense. And upon providing such footage, i fail to see what possible legitimate answer the FA could offer. But they can just give a bull**** answer and there's **** all we can do. The problem is the FA are answerable & accountable to nobody.

              They are a joke

              The whole lot of them

They are all self-serving, and love patting themselves on the back for doing a good job when the fact is they are a laughing stock because they dont know their arses from their elbows

I've just chalked this whole farce in the column of another time the FA victimise a club whilst knowing full well they never apply the same punishments to one of their "darling clubs"

              **** the lot of them

Suarez has received an additional two match ban for being Uruguayan, playing in an all red strip and having slightly amusing teeth.

You couldn't make it up, it's a complete joke, etc.

The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

They can't ignore things like this from now on because the club and Suarez would then have no problem to win a court case against them. It could end up costing the FA millions.

As it stands right now the FA can say that from now on we will punish everyone that make things like the ones Suarez did. The problem starts if they don't do it from now on.

                        True, crazy situation

I'm not at all convinced this is remotely true. As I understand it there are strict limits as to how far a club or a player can pursue the footballing authorities through the courts and seeking a judicial review of an FA ruling would equate to the club going to war against the FA. The way all this was handled so quietly by the FA and the club suggests to me at the very least both sides are keen to take the heat out of the situation for the time being. And even if there was a route for pursuing the FA on a matter like this, it would cost the club a lot of money in legal fees which it is unlikely to recoup and damages would not run into the millions for a one game ban. And you have to consider whether using the courts in this way could mean the club falls foul of UEFA and FIFA regulations, with the possibility of subsequent sanction, including being debarred from UEFA competitions.

However I wouldn't entirely rule out legal action on the Suarez 'racist comment' verdict - the stakes are a lot higher there.

I watched the Reginal D Hunter DVD yesterday.

He makes some interesting points about racism, the nuances of language, perception of insults and ownership of words.

                            Worth a watch.
                            Oh I don't know.

Is it still true that you cant take a FA to the high court? if you did then FIFA would ban that country from all international competitions, I got Alan Sugars book for xmas and having read it whilst owner of Spurs he threatened the FA of taking them to court as a bluff knowing the consequences for them if they did over something to do with the FA banning them from the fa cup and deducting points from them from the previous owners regime with venables taking/recieving bungs
