Alvaro Pereira: Either Evra is not proud to be black or he has an inferiority complex. That term is used in friendly way over here (Uruguay)

Was wondering when Pereira in particular would speak out, glad he has said something.

I think we would need more players from South America talk about this word language meaning/translation issue in support of Suarez that are not from Uruguay.

very true, well i suppose the fact that Periera is a black uruguayian makes our argument more credible (for want of beter word) So that's 2 or 3 south american players that have spoke out for Suarez, you'd imagine there would be more backing this cultural nuance? Would have been nice speaking out before the verdict aswell but alas..

The document outlining the details of the punishment from the FA will be finished and handed to the club soon, according to liverpool.no. 50 pages apparently..

Good that it's 50 pages - means there should be several angles that we can pursue to get this overturned.
                Hello mert.

The ****ers had 3 lines on one page to begin with and then they delayed the decision to get the media "witch hunt" guess work reasoning behind their decision and now they are meticulously copying and pasting all that newspapers material from so called "journos" in their report to support their ruling..

I can only imagine the mish mash of jargon ****e in those 50 pages to try and justify their rash and draconian punishment.

The document should have been handed over to the club the same minute as they delivered the verdict. Not one minute later.

Now as you say they can imagine things up.

We also appealed the fine we got after the Fulham match, but the appeal was denied..

Only in England that can happen, only in England.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

As I understand it there are strict limits as to how far a club or a player can pursue the footballing authorities through the courts and seeking a judicial review of an FA ruling would equate to the club going to war against the FA. The way all this was handled so quietly by the FA and the club suggests to me at the very least both sides are keen to take the heat out of the situation for the time being. And even if there was a route for pursuing the FA on a matter like this, it would cost the club a lot of money in legal fees which it is unlikely to recoup and damages would not run into the millions for a one game ban. And you have to consider whether using the courts in this way could mean the club falls foul of UEFA and FIFA regulations, with the possibility of subsequent sanction, including being debarred from UEFA competitions.

However I wouldn't entirely rule out legal action on the Suarez 'racist comment' verdict - the stakes are a lot higher there.
                                Correct

The highest court clubs can take anything to is the Court of Arbitration for Sport and even then you have to have a pretty good reason for it

The last club that tried to take it further than this was threatened with suspension from all competitions until the outcome of said case.

                                Unsurprisingly they dropped the case

Suspension from all competitions for any club doing this is now mandatory (thereby discouraging clubs from taking it this far)
